Visited for lunch with friends and, as we were a little early, we started off with some cocktails in the bar. My rhubarb vodka cocktail was pleasingly sour, and a good palate cleanser before we got to the serious business of lunch. Partner's vodka cocktail, which contained beetroot syrup, was the winner though, unusual and absolutely immense. Rye crispbreads with... More

From arriving to leaving, everthing was wonderful. Staff are fantastic and so knowledgeable about the produce. Very friendly but not at all intrusive. The food was delightfull, from the wonderful hand made crisps, appetisers, meal and coffee with hand made chocolates. This is the best vegetarian menu I have ever had. My husband and was delighted with his menu also.... More

Had a 3 course lunch with matching wine yesterday this was our first visit and we had high expectations. We weren't disappointed from beginning to end the food and also the service were second to none. Each course came with wine which complimented the food and was well worth the extra cost. We will definitely return and might go for... More

Had the most fantastic meal last night, a belated birthday treat. We went a la carte as my husband isn't a massive fish fan. His ox consume to start was a taste sensation, I had a selection of game which was also delicious. We both had the deer as a main. My dessert was also a highlight - apple and... More

My husband and I went for a lunch with paired wine. The ambience and great staff are certainly a credit to the establishment. The meal itself had a few things that did not meet our expectations but the taste was truely delicious. I had the beef bavette as a main which I know is not a top cut and can... More

Had a delightful birthday lunch here today with my husband. A true taste of the best of Scotland. I was on a mission to try "Spoots" (Razor Clams) and was not disappointed when I had them for my starter. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the food was first class, the service was faultless....every member of... More

We returned to The Kitchin after a little over two years, having last eaten there just before its extensive and rather brilliant refurbishment designed by Michaela Kitchin, wife of the celebrated chef Tom Kitchin; Tom and Michaela are joint proprietors. (Michaela is a hospitality professional who worked at Dubai's Burj al Arab.) The Kitchin has maintained a Michelin star for... More

This was our 3rd visit to The Kitchin and once again we had a wonderful experience from the moment you arrive until you leave. We like the professionalism of the staff and the fact that nothing is a problem, makes you feel properly spoiled. We chose from the Al a carte menu this time and thoroughly enjoyed the food which... Had the most amazing dinner experience from start to finish. From the warm and friendly welcome from all the staff to the decor and ambience of the restaurant itself. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food as in from where it is sourced and how it's prepared. We will definitely return and would highly recommend it.
