Lovely place and all the bar staff were so friendly and couldn't do more for us. We didn't eat there but the food looked delicious. Live music was great and great atmosphere on a Saturday night! Highly recommended.

I visited on a Friday night and the place was packed with a wait for a table. The food was well worth the wait, I also enjoyed the wide selection of beer on tap.

We visited this bar after a meal elsewhere to celebrate our anniversary. My partner loves whisky, while I'm always a bit lost! Our waitress Emma was fab, recommending a mojito cocktail which was delicious. We will come back again!

Stumbled across this bar on our first day and thank god we did! Upon walking in the staff made us feel so welcome and comfortable. On our first visit we worked our way through some of the whiski cocktails and had some traditional Scottish food which was beautiful! We came back again on our last day and again sampled some... 1sr bar me and my hubby found on our trip in Edinburgh! Really helpful staff as hubby had never tried whiskey and she helped pick one out! Also really helpful with my gin choice :) Lady was on her own when we visited but she ran the bar amazingly well and friendly to every single person who walked in! Didn't... More

I stumbled upon the Whiski bar and restaurant in search for some food. I guess I hit the jackpot because I wouldn't be writing this review right now, only minutes after I left. It was just overall great. Great atmosphere, great decoration, great staff, great food and great drinks. It had a certain class, but there was absolutely no stiff... More

We came here for a late bite to eat around 9.30pm on a Saturday night. The place was extremely busy but they managed to squeeze us in. We had the Charcuterie Board which was delicious and just right if you had an early dinner. Service was great and the cost wasn't too bad either. Would recommend checking this out, if... More

I would highly recommend both eating, and enjoying the music of Scotland while staying in Edinburgh. Food is outstanding. Spent two nights, eating their delicious food and listening to the local Scottish musicians. Gilie, as our waitress on the second night, and she was phenomenal. Have great recommendations, and was polite, curitos and fast. Could not recommend the Whiski Bar... More

Located at the center of Edinburgh it's a very comfortable bar, with Wi-Fi, wonderful service and a lot of Scottish beer options. For the whisky lovers... you won't be disappointed.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
