I am a vegetarian who has been trying to eat vegetarian in regular Scottish restaurants for my whole vacation. What a treat to eat at David Banns. Really good food, nicely presented. Very satisfying meal. David Bann's atmosphere was also quite pleasing. Nice use of...More

We were so excited to see a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and this one didn't disappoint. There were so many options to choose from and most of them could be made vegan. Nice for something fresh.

We booked here in advance after being recommended it by fellow vegans on Facebook. We had high expectations. We arrived late (we called to say that would happen, and the staff were very understanding), and the restaurant was already very busy. We were taken to...More

Very interesting flavours. The sauce on the kofta dish was really tasty. The dishes were well presented and service was very efficient. Could get a bit noisy when full but well worth a visit.

The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great. I ate three courses which is unusual but testament to how much I enjoyed it. Be aware that some of the dishes don't look as you'd expect and so you may think you've been...More

An ok rather than wow experience. Interior feels a bit dark and characterless and there seems to be a lot of tables fitted into a small space. Could be noisy when full but was fine when we were there. I didn't find the list of...More

On our walk down the Royal Mile towards Holyrood Palace, we stopped in at David Bann for an early lunch (our body clocks were a bit out of whack thanks to our super long day of international travel). We were excited about dining in this...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

We would like to have brunchish around oneish. We would enjoy dinning if you can accommodate us with a smart atmosphere. With tasty food without a lot of oil. Look forward to your reply.
