We are always delighted with the cosy atmosphere, superb food and friendly service at the family-run Russell. The chef is one of the longest serving in St Andrews who delivers consistently excellent fare, with a good menu choice. Enjoy.
We have eaten at the Russell previously and on this occasion we took advantage of an Itison promotion which offered steaks and wine for two for £19. The service when you first arrive and consideration of your wishes are second to none in all areas of the Hotel.
We were lucky enough to get a late booking on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy when we arrived (6.30) however the place soon filled up. The service in this family run concern was top notch - attentive yet very discreet. The food was absolutely fantastic, I had the mussels as a starter in very tasty broth with chilli.... More
We were staying here and had a three course meal. starter was cullen skink , lamb and cheesecake with baileys and chocolate. bottle of nice red wine priced at a realsonable £24.00 . Nothing was too much bother. staff attentive and friendly and food fantastic. Lovely atmosphere and decor.

The food was presented beautifully, tasted fantastic and was complimented by great service from all of the staff. It is very refreshing to find somewhere with such great... More

Both starters (Mussels and Salmon) and Main courses (Steak and Sea Bass) we had were excellent. Dessert (Sticky Toffee pudding) was a little disappointing. Price was very reasonable. Overall we went home happy and would likely... More
Always such a cosy little pub and was determined to have a little turkey dinner before we left our very short chrismassy stay in the town. Tasty pub food and always very friendly staff in this place
