What a wonderful evening with friends. We were a party of eight and were accommodated at one large dining table. Service was excellent and the food outstanding. Everyone chose something different from the a la carte menu and even one dish was from the western dishes menu and all were served all together. Staff were delightful and very attentive throughout.... More

Have eaten in dozens of Indian restaurants in manu different cities and countries. No question, The New Turban is top class. Small local place but with a quality of service and food that every large city centre establishment should be striving for. We have only been regulars only for about 2 years now but they will have our custom for... More

I really like this place. It is more of a sit in and enjoy place as the take away pricing is on the high side in this area. However the food is above average.

The only thing that detracted from our visit was the wait to get our booked table - no space at all and we were cramped against the wall for a while. However, the service once we were seated was excellent and the food very good. I think the Haggis Pakora is an acquired taste though but go for it if... More

Visited last weekend with a group of friends. We had a lovely meal, although the Naan and rice dishes were a little greasy for me. Also it was a bit cramped on the table that we had, but they did have to accommodate 14 of us! Would definitely go back again with a smaller group to try one of the... More

I have visited this restaurant numerous times over the years and every curry is even better than the previous . The best Indian food in Glasgow without a doubt and the service to match, thoroughly recommended.

Meal with friends, we let the owner choose a selection for us. Food was fantastic, the lamb chop starter is a must. Mains all great, the quality of food is as good as it gets. Look forward to returning again soon.

Description
The New Turban is a relaxed Indian restaurant in the heart of Glasgow’s Southside. It is well situated, close to Eastwood theatre, but also not far from the City, making this a popular, easy-going venue for both businesspeople and families, with pre- and post-theatre sittings.First opened in 1982, the restaurant was an immediate success. At that time, it was among only a handful of fine dining establishments in Glasgow, it was also one of the first to bring an authentic tandoor oven into the commercial kitchen. Now under new management, with the original family taking over, it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary! with a menu that resurrects the time it first opened. So, Whether it’s for pre-theatre or dinner, we invite you to enjoy The New Turban’s celebrated menu.
