Our dinner at 2 Fat Ladies at the Buttery was a memorable evening. Our dinner was superb. The corn soup with chilies was delicious-- a light beginning for our meal. I had a filet of sole... They filleted the sole for me. It literally melted in my mouth. For desert, I had a cherry tart that was yummy! The restaurant... More

We had my Mum's 76th birthday here and we were not disappointed. Lovely table linen, fresh flower, superb service and the food was wonderful. We had plaice with a light curry sauce, perfectly cooked and good portion sizes. One of the really good things about this restaurant is that they use the pre- theatre menu to properly showcase their cooking... More

My wife and I ate there. I enjoyed my meal, she didn't. Thought it was a little pricey. Very good service. Pork cutlets a little tuff.

We were a party of four. The atmosphere was vibrant, the staff delightful and the food and service excellent. All four of us praised the quality of what they ate. My beef was superb and cooked as I asked. Our first visit but not our last

For me, the Two Fat Ladies deserves 4 blobs, not just for the effrontery of a name which sets expectations completely at odds with the dining experience within, but primarily for the neo-Scottish ambience and delightfully friendly staff. To be brutal, the food peaked at high end pub bistro rather than low-end gourmet restaurant. The Cullen Skink was unrefined and... More

There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Our meals were delicious. I would particularly recommend my pudding which was strawberries, meringues etc. It was beautifully presented and very tasty. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.

Met up with two locals - who don't come here often because the location and the prize I suspect as well. We started with a lowland whiskey that we can really recommend: then had a full three course meal; both the fish, lamb and beef got good ratings form the table. The winner of the aesthetic and sweetness award is... More

We were staying at the Marriott for a few days (4 mins walk away) and we really liked this restaurant. Delicious fresh food, nice wine, really lovely room with a good atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it. We are not too keen on creamy food (and there is quite a lot of it on the menu) but the kitchen was... More

Visited TFLATB with friends. Restaurant busy so glad we'd booked. Food was delicious. Good choices at each course. Would particularly recommend Cullen Skink or Smoked salmon to start with, rack of lamb or fillet staek for main course and Banana and Toffee crepe for dessert. Staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient. My only negative comment would be that the restaurant... More
