Started off badly but quickly recovered itself. Our fish chowder arrived cold. It was obvious before it was even put in front of us. The bowl was cold and to be honest the server should have realised this. When we complained it was delay with quickly. Apparently soup kettle was not working and they hadn't realised it. Soup was taken... More

Nice food but was very expensive considering the amount you got. Wasn't very impressed that it wasn't possible to receipt a seventh of the bill each, not looking forward to claiming these expenses back.

We had an early dinner booking on a Friday evening prior to a Celtic Connections concert. From the outside the restaurant looks a bit clinical due to minimal decor. The tables looked a bit like something you would see in a school cafeteria but I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the seating was and, as we were seated near... More

It looks unimposing from the outside, but inside it is fantastic. A menu full of mussels in various guises, sauces and with great side plates. The mussels were the best I have ever tasted, cooked just right, not chewy but soft and tender. There is nothing more to say - if you love mussels you MUST eat here. No Choice.

We went for the pre-theatre menu. Smoked salmon spring rolls with sweet chilli dip and the fish chowder to start. The spring rolls were the highlight of the whole dining experience; really crisp and flavorsome. The chowder was pretty sparse on the fish front and drastically under seasoned, but after lashings of additional pepper and salt it became palatable. Free... More

We came to this restaurant twice during our two days visit in Glasgow. All I can say is this is the best seafood place if you love shellfish. For a half kilo mussels you only pay £5.60 and got complimentary bread. Staff are friendly and speedy service, which was exactly we wanted. There is another mussel inn in Edinburgh but... More

We dragged ourselves to the Mussel Inn on a rain soaked, December evening, after spending the afternoon at the Glasgow Science Centre. We got down at Glasgow Central station, pondering where to go to get our dinner, when it was absolutely pouring down. My daughter wanted to have fish and chips and the Mussel Inn, seemed to be the obvious... More

Visit here regularly, its one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. Top class food and wine, and reasonably priced. We usually order a selection of starters and mussels to share; Grilled Oysters superb, Prawns, haggis bon bons, Queenies, amazing as always. Friendly and helpful staff who offer great service. Would highly recommend!

The chowder was of course the only choice to be made for our starters, it was served simply with bread and butter and could have been had as a main course. To be truthful it was so tasty that I think I could have eaten it as starter, main and dessert! I didn't of course but rather had the shellfish... More

Description
The Mussel Inn is one of Glasgow’s première restaurants. Despite the name, our restaurant offers a much wider variety of food than just Scottish West Coast mussels served with our unique and delicious range of sauces. Our seafood dishes also include Creamy Seafood Chowder, Grilled King Scallops and Queen Scallops, Scottish oysters, and our amazing seafood platter (Mini Seafood Platter also available).
