I went here with my sister for breakfast before starting a long journey down the A9. She had been recommended by a friend and luckily for us we had enough time to stop. Now this place is always busy and there's a good reason why - the food is crazy good. I ordered a flat white and the french toast... More

This place has an excellent view of the Cairngorms and has great service. The drink and cakes are first class. Nice place to chill and chat.

Had a brilliant breakfast here, with a lot of choices to pick from. There was also an incredibly impressive selection of cakes to keep you going.

This was my husband and I's 1st visit. We have looked at the queue before & thought it must be really small up those stairs so we will not bother. Queued for approx half an hour but well worth the wait. We had sandwiches which were huge and delicious. We saw other people having salads which looked amazing. We then... More

The food is lovely, with a wide selection of meals to choose from at decent portions. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Cakes are something else! A massive selection all sounding awesome. Reasonably priced too. I would suggest this should be on anyones list if visiting the area.

Maybe a victim of it's own success, but very disappointed with our latest visit. Used to having to queue to get in, normally a pretty good indication of how good an establishment is, but found a longer than usual queue when we arrived for breakfast. Having been many times before for breakfast, this was something we ( grandparents, parents and... More

The main problem I had was the queuing on the stairs. from a safety point of view this really should be stopped, consider if there was an emergency in the restaurant and customers had to make a hurried exit and there was children on the stairs!! The food was average and overpriced.

Once again in this part of the world the amazing views make up for average food. The two cakes we selected were okay. Nothing more and nothing less. Staff are pleasant and the service is not to bad. Taken out of its location it would just be an average cafe. But it is where it is.

A lot of people told us about this place, which gives you an idea how good it is! Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. It was the most frequent item associated with Mountain Cafe. After a long day's walk we headed into town to see what it was all about. Avoid lunch time! Long queues, another indication of how good it is! Even... More

We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?
