Food is reasonably good and - my first thoughts were - not overly expensive, but what annoyed me was that on leaving the restaurant my wife noticed on the outside of building they were advertising special offers and meal deals for the over 55s (we...More

We recently stayed at the Royal Highland Hotel and, quite frankly, had no intention of dining at Ash - based largely on the number of negative reviews here. We decided to take a chance and were very pleased with our dinners (the salmon was perfectly...More

Dining at Ash was part of our dinner, bed and breakfast at the Highland Hotel. A very reasonable package. However, there were a few little niggles that could have been avoided or worse escalated into a more serious situation. Being part of a package I...More

The restaurant is an integral part of the Royal Highland Hotel. Our two course meal and cocktails for two were part of the deal with the hotel. The staff are over-attentive. As soon as you have put your cutlery down the table is cleared. This...More

Service was a bit poor but have had worse. The Haggis was very good and would recommend. Had to go up to the counter for our bill as our waitress would not bring it.

Found the staff really aggressive and unwelcoming. Reading other reviews, seems I'm not the only one. However, the repetitive 'copy and paste' response from management shows they offer a piecemeal response but don't implement corrective action. Very poor.

POOR POOR POOR! Firstly, the staff are not friendly, when your meal comes they bang it down on the table. There is very little interaction from them! I ordered a prawn cocktail-the salad wasn't washed and they prawns didn't taste of anything, very bland. Hubby...More

Popped in as restaurant looks nice and great location next to train station. Missed the deal for 2 courses for a set price by minutes. First glance of the menu looked pricey in the sense of a salad is on the same price level as...More
