Have been several times in the past, but this was the first time we were accompanied by our neighbour and her husband. We were greeted by a lovely log fire which was very welcoming on a cold and frosty day. The menu was extensive and...More

We are regulars at the Cawdor Tavern, and the food is always superb. I knew I would need to book for a special occasion, which I did. All tables were set out exquisitely, and they were clearly well prepared for the rush of Mother’s Day....More

Every time we go back to stay at Cawdor we have at least four meals at the Cawdor Tavern. The food is always very good with a varied menu and excellent, laid-back service. There's also an excellent wine list. We especially love the Scottish fare...More

We were driving aimlessly around the area looking for a lunch, so this was a lucky find. Great friendly service. Veggie and, admittedly fewer, vegan options available and the kitchen were very helpful. 3 courses for £10. We both loved everything we ate. And the...More

The woodburning stove makes for a welcome sight on a cold January day. We had the Cullen Skink which was very disappointing.. a thin milky soup made up mostly from potatoes and not much smoked haddock.. at £6.50 per portion, not very good value

Lovely old fashioned pub, cosy fire and friendly staff. Try the chips, they were fab! Vegetarian main was a bit disappointing. The menu we were given was different to the one I'd looked at online which was disappointing as I'd made my choice and was...More

Dogs are really welcome in the bar, not the restaurant. We never found it a problem at all, in fact the bar was quieter and cooler as it has French doors to the patio.
