North Port Restaurant is often described as a cozy enclave that exudes warmth and intimacy, making it an ideal spot for special occasions. Guests have called out the restaurant's delectable dishes, applauding the use of quality, seasonal ingredients, and their visually appealing presentation. Many find the pricing reasonable, especially given the culinary creativity and local flavors on offer. While service generally receives high marks for its professionalism and attentiveness, there have been isolated mentions of ambiance and service-related concerns.

We have lunch here just before the restaurant was due to close for an indefinite period due to Coronavirus. I have to say that we cannot imagine what this restaurant could do better than they currently do. Their front of house is warm welcoming and professional, their chef is clearly highly skilled and uses the best ingredients, the ambience is superb and the menu interesting and all of this at a perfectly reasonable price. I would say this is an absolute must go destination once they reopen when all the madness had finished.

One thing that has happened in lock down, is that many restaurants have started a delivery or collection service. The North Port restaurant in Perth is one of those. We decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal on Saturday night, and it was absolutely delicious. Starters of Monkfish Scampi and a insanely good Crab Tart were followed by a Potato Dumplings and a Hake dish, finished with a Strawberry Tart. The presentation, detail and flavour was not lost in transit, the meal was piping hot, and it was lovely to be able to enjoy some fine dining delivered to the door. Hope it is something that they continue! I will be a regular.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here - from the un-intrusive yet lovely service, to the nice touches - including the bread and dips and the coffee with truffles / marshmallows, the nice napkins and the general warm and cosy ambiance. All very much appreciated on a cold, blustery February day. I was also totally impressed at how well a quiet wee restaurant catered for my vegan diet. This is a relatively new change for me and eating out is one of the real sacrifices of making such a change ... but not here ... I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome and accommodated. Thank you!

We have a regular and favourite restauarant we visit when in Perth and decided it would be good to find another option for lunch or dinner. We tried The North Port based on a recommendation from a family member. The welcome was friendly. The space itself is warm and welcoming. A quite low, beautiful wood panelled ceiling, half panelled walls and a large fireplace along one wall give quite a relaxed intimate atmosphere for dining. Table spacing is perfect for comfort, not sure if this is driven specifically by Covid or not but still lets you feel part of the environment. Also found hand sanitiser is available on each table. Service is friendly, informative respectful and efficient and while attentive we were delighted to be left in peace to enjoy the excellent food. A good balance service wise. Ah the food. We both had three courses including a special starter of brill with razor clams, chanterelles and caramelised onions which was delicious, a taste sensation. Mains were a duck dish and partridge dish, both excellent. Perfectly cooked with accompaniments such as chargrilled parsnips, mushrooms and excellent jus that really complemented the main fare. We shared a portion of smooth mash which is additionally priced as an extra, not something I am a fan of. Although to be fair, neither of our dishes really needed it. The presentation of the dishes is first class. An orange and white chocolate ganache and a dark chocolate cremaux finished our meal in superb fashion. The description doesn't do either dessert justice. With wine and excellent espressos the bill came to a bit north of £90. Not cheap outside of larger cities but more to the point, the service, the cooking, the quality of food and the overall experience added up to excellent value. We noted they offer a well priced set menu option available at lunch and pre theatre times. Delighted to have found another lovely destination to dine when in Perth. Tip: You really need to reserve a table in advance to go here. (It took a few tries to find a date and time that worked for us) Website reservation system is simple and effective but you can also phone if you prefer.

We may never visit Perth again as it was an overnight stopping point on a long journey. The food was excellent with some very clever blends of flavours. A really interesting building too! I only wish I could remember the name of the lovely server, she had a great knowledge of the local food sources and was very professional and friendly. We went on a Sunday which has a 2 course or 3 course fixed price. It was excellent value. So, sadly this may be our one and only time here. It was a meal we continued to talk about as we walked back to our hotel, that surely is praise indeed.

As Covid restrictions continue we decided to try North Port at Home for a special meal and were not disappointed - although this was a "takeaway" meal it was restaurant quality. Delivered at exactly the time requested and even it the containers it looked good. When plated up it looked even better. We had three courses and each course was delicious - a first class meal and definitely the best meal since the beginning of restrictions a year ago. A varied and interesting menu with additions for Mothers' Day weekend We look forward to having a meal in the restaurant when restrictions allow and our confidence returns but until then we will certainly be using North Port at Home again.

Had an absolutely wonderful lunch here today. The restaurant has a wonderful interior, a really relaxing ambience and waiting staff who could not have been more friendly or helpful. The food was incredible, beautifully cooked and presented, and every dish was full of flavour. The North Port haggis was perhaps the best haggis I’ve ever tasted, and the whipped crowdie dessert with blackcurrant sorbet and oat granola was sublime. Very talented chef at work here. Great value too, at only £22 for three courses from their set menu, which is hard to believe given the quality of the food being served. A really memorable meal, and hope to visit again soon to sample some more of their wonderful cooking.

On a short break in Crieff we booked this for a ‘special meal’. Was not disappointed. Food here is superb. Ample parking nearby and free after 6pm. Restaurant is well appointed from a decor point of view but food was best we’ve had on this trip. Starters - Black Isle Beef and Confit Potato, mains were Roe Deer and North Sea Hake. Sides available but not needed. Cheeses at the end. Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about dishes. Made good wine and cheese recommendations. Excellent restaurant. Highly recommend. We booked in advance and would recommend doing this as walk ins could not get a table

1st time visiting The North Port. Lovely little place in Perth with a nice cosy atmosphere. The menu was limited but had a lovely mix of dishes which all sounded tasty, with the added nod that the ingredients were locally sourced which is lovely to see. Portion size was on the small side but in this case is was quality over quantity which I appreciated. Only small criticism on the food was it could have been slightly hotter, apart from that, very tasty and flavoursome. Staff were all very friendly and attentive from the start. The waiters and waitresses were all clearly busy as it looked like every table was booked out, however the busy rushed feeling of the staff detracted from the over all atmosphere of the restaurant - a slightly calmer and relaxed service would have been more fitting for the surroundings rather than seeing waiters and waitresses rushing around so quickly. Saying that, they were all extremely attentive and looked after us extremely well, especially following a request to order desserts as our table was booked out and running low on time for the next guests arrival. Overall, a lovely place with good quality local Ingredients. Will be back in the future.

For my wife's 40th birthday we decided to order North Port at Home. The quality of the food was absolutely exceptional and it arrived exactly on time and was piping hot. We had ribs and haddock fritters to start and beef cheek and hake for the mains. Our three kids also had the breaded chicken and chips and said they absolutely loved it. We weren't able to finish our desserts as the portions were generous but look forward to raiding the fridge later! Will definitely keep a watch on the menu and order again soon!

Often spoke about eating at the Noth Port since moving to Perth,so took advantage of their eating at home menu. Absolutely delicious, beautifully presented food, even in takeaway containers.Simple to transfer to nice china.Worried about ordering hake as we eat it regularly, but it was perfect, beef cheeks melt in the mouth as they should, and all the various vegetables perfectly cooked. For two pudding lovers, the chocolate ganache and apple & caramel mousse were the perfect size..generous! We look forward to a post lockdown celebratory lunch!

We ordered for collection on the North Port’s first weekend of reopening. Over the moon with the quality of food, it’s really impressive how the dishes travel and maintain The teams very high standards. If you are lucky enough to have dined in the restaurant - you will definitely see the link in this well thought-out menu. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending them for your lockdown dining needs - and can’t saint until the restaurant is able to reopen (due to Covid restrictions). Thanks again for a lovely meal!

Cooking competent but not imaginative. Portions were on the modest side - leading to our complaint about one dish in particular. Service started well but kitchen became slow - so slow we didn’t have time to finish dessert. One dessert was wrongly delivered. We cancelled coffee. Overall we were disappointed to conclude that we were disappointed. Financial adjustment was offered willingly and that helped, but really we would rather have paid full cost and had a great experience. It’s a shame because we have had good experiences here previously and this one experience won’t stop us going again because we know they can do better

Simply put it, gastronomic! Deciding to go for a solo and light birthday meal, I heard that Northport has built a reputation via word of mouth so I decided to book well ahead of schedule. Food: Feeling nice and fishy, I ate Halibut, Scallops and monkfish which was imply astonishing. All of which came well presented and balanced as seen on the photo. These photos do not do justice! To top it off, I cannot highly recommend the orange and white chocolate gnash enough. Expecting it to be very sweet, the hogweed sorbet balanced the sweetness with a nice tangy/cardamom like touch to the dish! You will have to stop and slow down to just appreciate each and every spoon of this dish! Atmosphere: This resturant gives you a very warm, scottish home like feeling that just makes you feel cozy even if you were the first diner in. Staff: Fantastic service, well mannered and very polite This resturant is one of the most rustic like, laxed (relaxed with a touch of formality hench 'laxed') Scottish resturant I have found. Highly recommend and highly underestimated! Keep up the good work!

I have been to the North port on three occasions and each time I've been blown away by the food and service. The restaurant it's self is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal, the staff are very warm and friendly and the food to die for. The value for money is exceptional as you can tell only the best produce is used and cooked with passion and love. Can't wait for another visit!
