I was told by the kind owners that I wasn't actually consuming an "afternoon tea" but a "high tea"...As a foreigner, I did enjoy the food a lot

We were walking through Perth looking for somewhere to eat and came upon 'Small Talk' in the High Street. What a great find. It advertises itself as a traditional tea room, which it is, but it is also so much more besides. The proprietors and their staff were very welcoming, genuinely interested in us and fantastic fun too. We were... More

Second visit in 2 weeks. First time took my mum for her birthday and she was treated with such care. Wonderful place to visit from the most amazing flavoured scones to the home made jam to the Devon clotted cream to the most friendly attentive staff etc etc. Highly recommended this quaint tea room. The carrot cake is exceptional ..a... More

Fabulous little restaurant masquerading as a traditional tea room but far more than that as there was a great menu to choose from. Traditional Oxtail soup and Cullen Skink were on offer which made opting for the breakfast a bit of a compromise but no fear, it was superb with wonderful black pudding and fresh eggs cooked to order Great... I am not going to describe the staff and decor at Small Talk, that's been covered many times by many people. I'm talking about the fantastic breakfast which is served until 1.00pm. This is what you get....2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, black pudding (all these supplied by Lindsays Butchers, not the usual bought in from frozen food suppliers) 2... More

I took my mum and family to small talk for an afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. It was a treat. Lovely service, surroundings and food. They made my mum's day and nothing was any trouble. Thank you.

I went for an late lunch and was surprised that we needed to make a reservation as there were only about 6 people in what seats probably 30+. I hate to say that they are overpriced for what you get. (i prefer only to give great reviews) but I want to be honest on expectations. The soup WAS absolutely delicious,... More

What a fantastic find ! After roaming around Perth and scouring many menus in cafe pub and restaurant windows we were delighted when we eventually found Small Talk Tearooms . We were warmly greeted by very friendly and helpful staff as though we were regular customers . A lovely authentic traditional tearoom atmosphere is displayed throughout . Staff went the... More
