Nothing to look at from the outside, but the food is surprisingly good. Chicken goujons were meaty & succulent, chips were absolutely delicious. Funky old fashioned interior, lots of nooks & crannies, welcoming fire on a chilly winter's day. Worth a visit.

We paid a visit as we were on our way down to Garryvoe. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food we had ordered. Beautifully presented toasted sandwiches served with chips a side salad. Well worth a visit

Great spot for a party! Good Irish stew.... for soakage!! Good pints and wines sold by glass or bottle. Had a night after wedding party with a large mixed group, and what a fun night! Live music on some nights.

We went to Pat Shorttys for lunch and drinks and enjoyed it immensely. Eileen the server was funny and attentive; the crowd is mostly locals. The seafood chowder, Irish craft beer, chicken salad and chips were some of the food highlights- all of which were perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. The food is simple but very good, and we'd go... More

We passed through castlemayr and we're lucky to land in Shortt's pub. Our Irish friends confirmed it is a traditional pub and having been to a few in Ireland I agree. Nice warm fire going on a rainy day. Everyone's lunch was really good. Lots of interesting historical pieces to see.

Because of the notoriety of Patt Shortt and the good food, this has become a "go -to" pub in the area for visitor & locals. Many of the weddings in the nearby Castlemartyr Resort seem to drop in for a pint or two before the main event. The food is good, very good for a pub.

Arrived at 4.50pm after a long journey. A very rude waitress told us abrutly that they stop serving food at 5pm. She turn her back and walked away, 4.50 is TEN MINUTES away form 5pm in my world !!! Won't be going back there.
