Our tour bus allowed us a wee stop in Donegal town. In need of some grub, we popped into Olde Castle Bar after snapping some pics of Donegal Castle. Lovely cosy bar and restaurant, friendly staff in an historic setting. Well worth a visit, located in the centre of Donegal, just off The Diamond and in the shadow of Donegal Castle.

Proper Irish pub. Great atmosphere and buzz and great honest Irish food. Roast duck special was superbly cooked. Staff sadly were mainly foreign and I couldn't understand what they were saying at times but still very friendly and helpful

Attend with friends on a Saturday night for evening tea. Staff were helpful and advised on favourite dishes. Food was beautiful and enjoyed by all, no complaints. Will return again when next in Donegal to try different dishes on the menu

Very handy location, right beside the castle. Downstairs is a very old , traditional feel, rather more like an old English pub than Irish. Great selection on the menu, with daily specials including plenty of fresh fish. Very good meal, and reasonable value for money. Would return.

Its a great traditional bar well kept, good atmosphere, good pints. Its got a good selection of beers on tap unlike other bars on town and has a local but welcoming vibe, spacious but warm and comfortable decor.
