First place we went to when we arrived in Dublin - mainly because it was only 2 minutes from our hotel (O'Callaghan Alexander). We were starving - having had no time for breakfast that morning because of the early start to catch our plane. We were not disappointed. I had French onion soup with croutons and my wife had corn... I feel bad for anyone who works in this cafe; the owner is a nightmare. He clearly didn't have a system going, so the queue to ages. Then He kept telling customers what to do when everyone was just trying to get a sandwich on their lunch break. One man asked him for a number 13 and he responded by... More

Small, authentic sandwich shop with delicious sandwiches, good selection of local beers and wines. Good for a quick lunch.

From the outside, I took this to be a wine bar, but it is so-much more! We arrived just after dinner service ended (9pm) but they very kindly produced some cheese and charcuterie for us which we demolished whilst surrounded by shelves of local craft beers - many of which we had the opportunity to sample. Draught beers are also... More

A hidden gem. Love this spot when need a few after drink. A coffee shop with beer. Is there really anything better? Relaxed atmosphere, more like somewhere you'd expect to find in Brussels or Amsterdam.

This is the place that I miss most now that I don't live in Dublin. I came here virtually every day while working in Trinity College for 2 years because it is _the_ best place to lunch in town. The owner prides himself in sourcing the best local ingredients, the best bread for the sandwiches, and he makes his own... More

On our first visit to Dublin and we came across Probus by chance. A nice laidback cosmopolitan feel, with fantastic food, a superb selection of both beer and wine and friendly staff rounded off our first day nicely. Would thoroughly recommend Probus!
