If you're looking to try Irish food and want to sit in the heart of Dublin, this is the perfect place to go! It's right on Temple Bar but also has good food for a decent price. I had the soup, boxty, and the Bailey's cheesecake as well and all three were quite delicious. Just make sure to make a... More

We were told to stop by and have a traditional boxty here. SO GLAD WE DID! Although we walked in on a Thursday evening and luckily scored 2 seats right away at the bar, we did see many told you need to book (make reservations) because they were full. So, I recomend doing that because the food is so tasty!... More

Second stop on tapas trail, still without superb guide Paul. Had porc, lamb and beef stew, with a home stout. Excellent!

In this restaurant I came up with the recommendation that I have to try the Irish specialty - Boxty. The steak was peppery, although I like it, but it was to much. It was strictly my mistake because it was explained in menu. There is too many tables, so you're not comfortable but it's OK. The waitress was terribly irritating /... More

We only had one night in Dublin before returning home and we found this place by accident and I am really glad we did! Service was great, our waiter was super nice, drinks and food were really tasty and just the right portions. We really liked goats cheese & beetroot & Gaelic boxty. Overall a great experience and we are... More

The title of the review says it. In Temple Bar, the nightlife is prominent and the atmosphere is boisterous. both House offers traditional Irish meals with modern flair. The atmosphere is more tame than what is out the window. There will be a wait but it's is well worth it.

I had a perfectly pleasant meal at Boxty House during my recent visit to Dublin. Prices aren't cheap, but they are reasonable for the Temple Bar area and portions were filling. I ordered the Dublin Coddle (pork sausage, bacon, and potato stew) and thought it was comforting and delicious (it reminded me of chicken stew). The bacon was not like... More

Went to Boxty on Saturday with my kids. I had the Boxty Mixed grill - it was ok but a bit bland - definitely not worth the €12.90 I paid for it. Good location but overpriced. Table service was pleasant but the woman 'welcoming' us at the door was a bit stern and cold. Men's toilet - 1 small sit... More

We didn't know what Boxty was but a local friend recommended this place and boy we are glad he did. "Boxty" is a general term for a potato pancake but it usually refers to the entire dish--a pancake stuffed with various things. We had the Boxty "sampler" that had Boxty fries (with great Aioli), some potato bread, and the best,... More

I had their Boxty meal (which ended 15 minutes after we got there, but the waitress was nice enough to let my friend and I order it) which came with a savory chowder with a side of bread. The Boxty was definitely the highlight. Amazing gravy, delicious steak and mushrooms all wrapped in a blanket potato pancake. One of the... More
