I reckon it's the best steak i've had in Dublin but boy is it expensive. It's definitely five star dining, but you pay a price for each star!!!! Worth the price for a special occassion though!

We had the early bird menu, bread starters, steak , dessert, no compliants. Sides of mashed potatoes And creamed spinach I would describe as baby food, Onions were ok. I think the sides let the meal down. Service was excellent. Extremely warm in the restaurant...More

My friends and I make a point of dining at Shanahan's every time we are in Dublin, most recently on 6/5/15. As always, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, including making excellent recommendations concerning choices from the well-rounded wine list. And, all of the appetizers...More

This place is very expensive. This place is very good. Be sure to at least have a drink, if not dinner, DOWNSTAIRS. In addition to JFK's rocking chair, there are intriguing U.S. presidential memorabilia. The staff is gracious as is the manager. The steak selection...More

Have never left a restaurant feeling so full- and that was with the pre theatre menu! Four courses plus freshly baked bread cut in front of you- and more onion rings than two people could ever eat. Highly attentive staff and beautiful surroundings. Would recommend...More

Had a meal here recently. Just had the filet mignon and two sides. Fries and crispy onion. Whilst the steak was majestic and, in fairness for €50 it would want to be, personally I thought the sides were just not as good. The onions were...More

If you like a good steak, great selection of wine and have a good appetite then don't hesitate. We struggled to finish our steaks even though we ordered no starters and thought one could easily be shared between two. Many an American steakhouse brings the...More

There is no dress code but I did wear a blazer and khakis. Didn't want to look like a bum. I strongly recommend the Saddle Room instead, better food and way less expensive.
