We were in Dublin with a HAL Cruise and looking for things to do on our own. This pub had good reviews, but wha attracted us was the "Strolling Through Ulysses" performance (only on Sundays). We had drinks, went downstairs for the delightful performance, and stayed for a delicious late pub lunch. There's a lot about this place on their... More

Off the beaten track a reasonable priced pub serving great food and lush Guinness! Irish whiskeys a plenty with very friendly staff. Worth finding and not so commercialised as Temple Bar area.

Soup and draft beer were both great as was the dark Irish soda bread. This is very close to where the historic walking tour ends and our guide suggested it as a non-touristy venue. We wanted to return but ran out of town. I highly recommend!

Old world pub, well known with Dublin people, has a more mature crowd if you want to get away from the maddening crowd

Beautiful Victorian bar . Good priced drinks but new staff need to be trained up before being let loose behind the bar. Different prices from different staff for the same round.

Had lunch here...average food and beer. As most pubs, there is traditional Irish meals and generous beer selections. The entry is very cool and the atmosphere is very cool...darker tones fill the pub. Located on a busy street, this is a great stop. Go for lunch for lighter crowds.

First visit 7.3.16. The Stag's Head is a Dublin classic in most senses. The decor is dark mahogany. The fancy windows mimic stained glass. The wood details are just short of ornate but full of character and sufficiently light to avoid seeming dark and brooding. The Guinness was proper. The only thing out of place was a rather unfortunate TV... More

We were a starving family of 4 (2 teenagers) and although it was hard to find, it was worth running In the rain for it! Warm and friendly waitress, terrific food and a fun atmosphere. Lots of locals, which is what we wanted. Thrilled to have gone

First goal upon entering Ireland was to find an Irish pub for some Fish and Chips and a pint of Guiness. the Stag's Head did not disappoint; just what the doctor ordered. perfect on all accounts. The fish and chips were the best we had the whole trip, the Guiness . . well what can you say, the waitress was... More
