Just bought by Wetherspoons, the UK owned pub chain - as its first outlet in the Republic of Ireland. This can only be a good thing, with a €1m+ investment providing more diversity.

Tonic is probably the only bar in Blackrock where you can dance into the early hours these days. Although other bars do have a late licence this is most likely the only spot where you will still find bodies bopping after midnight at the weekend....More

Tonic has great cocktails and food combined with a good atmosphere it is the perfect place to meet with friends or colleagues. Strawberry Daiquiri is divine.

I visited Tonic with a party of about 20 colleagues recently. The staff were great, couldn't do enough for us - one lady is on a particular diet and had a few special requests on the evening, which were met with nods and smiles and...More

Never really warmed to Tomic,, despite giving it my best efforts. Eaten there a few times, and the food can only be described as workman like, with little to inspire it. Still, nice beer garden for when teh sun is shining.

Nothing amazing here. Not really the type of pub that suits Blackrock, a tad pretentious and expensive. Staff don't really seem to care.

Brought the better half to tonic today for some lunch. Waitress seemed disinterested. Our order took nearly over 30 mins.... We both had sandwiches. It took ten minutes for the bill to come Food and atmosphere were average. Won't rush back.

Decent pub grub at competitive prices. Good service and atmosphere generally. Can be a little bit dark inside but I suppose that's just the way it is...

My partner and I stopped off here before we went to see a show. Menu is cheap and the food was tasty. Having lived in Spain it reminded me of any local "venta" I've been to. Looking forward to my return visit
