We really enjoyed this restaurant, which reminds me of a cave or grotto given that it is underground. The decor was nice. The menu was extensive and good. There was a nice singer/guitar player for entertainment. The service was good until the end, when it...More

Saw the rave reviews and came here on my birthday. It was a quiet Sunday evening and none of the teppanyaki tables seemed to be open and we were led downstairs to a rather dark dining area. Partner's tom yam soup was acceptable but mains...More

Visited here ahead of Billy Joel's Aviva concert in June. Went for the table service downstairs instead of the demonstration cook experience upstairs but all and all this was one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten in. Friendly staff and authentic Chinese taste....More

Chai yo is split into two sections, upstairs we have three teppanyaki (hibachi) tables where the chef entertains and cooks in front of you. Down stairs we have the more conventional restaurant sitting. We serve a variety of asian cuisines such as teppanyaki, sushi, thai curries and chinese food. We love to cater for large groups at the teppanyaki tables where we can accomodate up to 40 ppl on the three tables. Dont forget every night we have singers and a guitarist to help you celebrate that perfect night.
