We arrived and asked for a table for 2 ... The manager told us that he only had one table and it was small and cramped at the front window, we declined and as we were about to leave he told us that the back room was opening in 5 minutes and immediately a server took up through!!!, Our meal... This is a lovely place, very chilled and lovely friendly staff! The tables a little too close together, however, the menu is great, lots to choose from, I had the hake, melt in your mouth, with fresh vegetables and a nice glass of tePá

Love the food in this restaurant. Had a muscle dish as an entrée (lovely portion) and some lamb steak for the main. Great taste. Unfortunately, as it's a wine bar, they don't serve any beer or Guinness for someone who are not into wine. Good place to pay a visit for dinner....

I have eaten here several times and the food has been perfect every time. I usually order off the "not so early bird menu" which is great value for what you get. Every time I leave here I am stuffed! It is a nice cosy restaurant and is always packed, so make sure to book your table!

We visited here last night, February 11th. It started off fine, we were seated in the front area, a little cosy and loud but fine. We were served by a young red head waitress (didn't get her name) who was the nicest, most polite and friendly waitress we probably ever had. That's where the positives stopped. We ordered starters and... More

Went for a dinner with my girlfriend here tonight and found a led pellet in my pigeon starter. Took 20 mins for waitress to take order and another 15 mins before an original daquiri and coke to come to the table. Daquiri was such a terrible original daquiri which is so hard to get wrong. Only 3 ingredients. Slow service... More

This was a very nice restaurant to dine at. I was very on the go while on holiday in Galway and finally had a chance to sit down and have a proper dinner. Everything I ordered was excellent. The potato leek soup was flavorful and not overly creamy, I could not stop eating it! My entree was equally as pleasing.... More

Really glad I got to eat here after Christmas. We didn't have a reservation so luckily got a table without any hassle. Lovely atmosphere in the place. The root vegetables tasted like root vegetables should really taste like. My father's apple pastry dessert was sublime-really light and just so unique.

Description
As a family we have lived and worked on Quay street since 1902 and have a long history of looking after customers with Martine having worked in Margaret Mc Donagh fish shop across the road (McDonagh's Seafood Bar) at a very young age. This tradition was passed on to my brother and I, as we too worked with our mother in her restaurant preparing and serving food. Our family tradition and Galway's Great trading ties with other countries have seeped into the bones of our restaurant and greatly influence everything we do. We believe in local Irish produce prepared simply using traditional and modern techniques from home and around the world.
