We were really looking forward to our planned lunch here. The building itself was the home of the Walsh family until the early 1960's. I frequented it many times over the years but was so disappointed today on revisiting after some years. It looked so inviting with the fires but the menu was disappointing. I decided to have the hamburger... More

Had lunch there recently with some friends. Lovely pub, clean, and open. The menu was good and the food was better. Served by friendly and attentive staff.

We arrived after a long journey from Hungary last month. We wanted to make our first night in Galway somewhat special, so we decided to go to this iconic bar. We arrived with no reservation, but the friendly staff easily accommodated us on the long high table in the bistro. We wanted to try out the local dishes. The staff... More

If you're visiting Galway this spot is a must! Steeped in history with the friendliest staff you could meet. I came here with my girlfriend and didn't know what to expect however we were both pleasantly surprised. The menu was seasonal, rustic and local. I had the duck and my girlfriend had the catch of the day. We found it... More

A stalwart amongst hostelries in Galway city, the Kings Head is a characterful busy pub on the main pedestrianised street as you head into the Latin Quarter. Medieval walls and windows form part of the facade steeped in history. In the past few decades it has maintained a steady popularity for a good night out providing live music bands on... More
