Not the type of place I expected to find in Galway, but a wonderful surprise nonetheless. Eclectic but tasteful and cozy atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly service, a creative menu, and a nice wine selection. But the brightest spot is certainly the food - absolutely delicious and an interesting mix of local and foreign ingredients, dishes, and flavors. I highly recommend... More

This restaurant came highly recommended by the owners of the B&B we stayed at. It is small, and does get crowded. Reservations in advance are a good idea. We were able to eat at the bar. Great food!

Dined with a friend last night. Bill total €93 euro, included 4 glasses of wine but no starters or extra veg (which is approx €4). We shared a dessert. We enjoyed our food - steak & hake but the staff never smiled or made us feel welcome, just told us the time they needed the table back. Also discovered when... More

Food was very tasty, Simple stuff and home cooked flavours. No fuss in decor etc but stress on local seasonal stuff is amazing. If you are in galway, not to be missed. And the lovely spanish arch.

I was travelling alone and sometimes it's hard to find a good place to eat, but I felt relaxed and enjoyed tasty foods, and it was not expensive.

I was only there for brunch but the food was outstanding. Busy, quaint, and right on the waterfront. Service was efficient as the staff had little time for pleasantries but no complaints. The french toast was fantastic. Coffee delish! Highly recommend. Went back the following day but they didn't open till late (10:00am??)

We discovered Ard Bia at Nimmo's a couple of year's ago on my first trip to Galway. Sadly by the time we found it, we only had time to have breakfast there - which was fabulous. So on our return to Galway this time, we made sure we booked in to eat in the evening. And weren't disappointed. The menu... More

Last night, we visited Ard Bia. Excellent food & service. We had a table by the window, with a view across the river. All three courses we each had was devine. The deserts were to "die for". "Heaven on a plate". The staff were excellent, especially Robin. I rate this restaurant the best in Galway & always enjoy coming back... More

Visited with adults and children. Food delicious, fresh tasty. Not very expensive and good variety. Vegetarian, meat, fish. Pancakes. All lovely. Quirky too we got a table beside a Window that looked onto the claddagh.
