We went here with some family who came down from Dublin. This restaurant never fails to impress. Beautiful ambient setting. Two of us had the risotto, one the salmon starter and one the goats cheese. The goats cheese was so very light in the filo pastry. the risotto was perfectly cooked and the salmon with the crab brulee really was... More

On a family holiday to Waterford I made 7.00 dinner reservation on a Saturday night to eat here with my husband and my two year old. 30 minutes before we were to leave my toddler was sick in the hotel bar and I had to take her up to the room to clean her up and put her to bed.... More

Very expensive and having eaten in several restaurants in Waterford I found the food here to be the same but at an extortionate price.

Good Evening mylnagh, With all the respect in the world, I am not certain you are reviewing the correct restaurant. Our food for the last 11 years has been described as delicious, inventive, caring and extremely good value for the quality on the plate. We only work with local suppliers and everything is made daily from scratch. Perhaps we were... More

I would not give 5stars for this place. Staff not nice at all. To many tables and very small room. Not the best place in Waterford at all.

Dear Karo L, We appreciate reviews, but when we check out the reviewer and see that a very large amount of their reviews are about chippers and take aways, we understand that perhaps you did not enjoy a fine dining experience. We have dedicated, passionate, professional staff, whom for the most part have been to hospitality management school. I am... More

Like a castle inside. Absolutely stunning. My first time this evening visiting LA boheme. The cauliflower soup was so tasty. Haddock special was good (I was taking a chance on it as I never eat haddock so how do I know what to expect) but the pea and mint puree and the little bits on the plate were fantastic too... More

Food was beautifully presented and tasty, however it was freezing cold in the restaurant and we were there at 7pm on an evening where it was 4 degrees outside. No excuse for cold!!!

Was there last Saturday for a family reunion. Went down the small corridor and nearly went headfirst as there was a step down and no sign indicating same except for a strip of light on the ground. Complained to the waitress and she said did you not hear me saying " Mind the step" bad start to the evening. Told... More

Dear TonyHopkins2014, There is a small step into our main dining room and this is lit with a strip light to warn guests they are stepping down. With each and every guest that we lead into the main dining room, we stand by the step and let them know to mind their step. We feel this is more effective than... More

My fiancée and I eat here this evening, I have to say it was the most beautiful meal we've had in a long time.. service excellent and very attentive. I can not fault the food or the house wine which we thought was great value and true to its taste. Definitely be returning. Fab fab fab.

I had the lamb which came in a surprisingly large portion with delicious spiced veg. The staff were very attentive (and actually French) and the wines we had were very nice from the extensive menu they had on offer. Setting/ambiance was perfect as well. Would recommend to friends.

Lovely little french restaurant. The building itself is stunning, with exposed stone walls. The food is very good but i think it is a touch over-priced to be fair. Other than that, Very nice

Description
La Bohème Restaurant is housed in the vaults of the Georgian ‘Port of Waterford’ building – an historic property which has been associated with the local Chamber of Commerce for many years.Proprietors Christine and Eric Théze have patiently restored this magnificent space to create an inviting and intimate atmosphere. Its original flagstone floors, limewashed walls and vaulted ceilings are unique and particular to Waterford. The design of the restaurant is sympathetic to the architecture of the building, with influences of New Baroque. The restaurant combines ornate antiques and decoration with modern touches creating an eclectic, decadent interior.La Bohème is a restaurant where the pleasures of the table are in accord with the décor, blending modern delicacies with recipes passed down from generation to generation. Enjoy an aperitif at our beautiful pewter bar while perusing the menu and whetting your appetite.‘Here at La Bohème we pride ourselves in going the extra mile to give our customers a dining experience beyond comparison’
