I have eaten here 2 times before and the food and service had been OK, something has gone badly wrong. The waitress who served us was lifeless, don't get me wrong I really don't wait a hyper jumping up and down excited person, but I thinks having a waitress who is warm and welcoming, who makes you feel like they... Firstly, its expensive. You can't escape that. Establishment itself was fantastically clean, well presented, well arranged and beautifully run, I almost forgot it was a chain. Shout out to Laura, our server. Very helpful, nice and I do believe she was French so it made the experience very authentic. Would go again but I'd need to save up. The staff... More

I enjoy bringing French guests here and seeing their reaction. This time was that you need to come to England to taste the best Boeuf Bourgignon. I agree because I shared this dish which was divine. We had aperitif at the bar and a superb French Syrah with dinner. The choice of wines here is good and surprised my French... More

Five of us ate here last weekend (Saturday). We booked in advance and if was a good job we did as they were packed. All five of us found the food excellent, the mussels starter was particularly delicious. The steaks were tender and the fish dishes also received rave reviews. My chocolate fondant dessert was good too. The service was... More

Very disappointed. Food was a long time coming and when it came some of it was wrong despite it being confirmed via phone 3 times.Squid was like rubber! Some of our party didn't get their dessert. Staff not attentive and almost made you feel you were being annoying asking for anything. Definately won't be returning.

This is a pleasant restaurant serving primarily french-style food. We have eaten there at lunch, early and late evening.

Visited with a large group of friends. Lovely ambience and cosy feel. We had been asked to pre order our food due to the size of the party. Starters came swiftly. My mushrooms on bruschetta was hearty and tasty, if not pretty. We then waited an hour or more for mains, which seemed odd when we'd pre-ordered. When the mains... More

We went to Bistro Pierre for a pre theatre dinner at 6pm, with a theatre ticket 5 mins away starting at 7.30pm. We informed the waiting staff that we were going to the theatre and duly ordered off the pre theatre dinner menu. The restaurant was maybe half full but there didn't seem to be enough waiting staff. At 7.20pm... More

This restaurant was a bit hard to find when you're not a local! Went for lunch - good choice of menu and food was well presented and tasty. Service was very good. Large open plan restaurant with quite a lot of steps to access it.

Description
Bistrot Pierre's 'raison d'être' is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Sitting in the heart of the town centre, just a two minute walk from Harrogate Theatre and close to the bustling Montpellier shopping district. The décor is decidedly French in style, with the accent on elegant and relaxed. Our bistrot is located on the first floor with lift access and benefits from a stunning heated balcony, which is the perfect place for dining al fresco whatever the weather! Open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That's why you'll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. If you love what we do and are looking for the perfect present, give the gift of French dining and order our gift vouchers online. We also have a bistrot in Ilkley in West Yorkshire, which sits proudly within a stunning arch-shaped building that dates back to 1861. Next door you will also find our sister pub, The Crescent Inn, which boasts 8 real ales, 15 wines by the glass, honest home-cooked food and eleven affordable boutique bedrooms.
