We visited Travellers Rest Pub last summer on a Saturday afternoon. We popped in to grab a sandwich and a drink as it was a nice day and we wanted to sit out in the sun. Having really enjoyed our experience the first time, we decided to book a table for 2 mums on mothers day. The four of us... More

Having been here before, not dined but seen quality and portion size(fish and chips) we were keen to dine here. What a disappointment! The quality was excellent but portion size abismal, even the steak pie was smaller. The reason given was that the supplier had been changed?? Is this a good reason for serving a small fish that is described as 'giant' and... More

Very friendly staff on arrival, with pleasant atmosphere, such a small country pub with added on modern conservatory. The main pub is dog friendly. It was lovely to see the kites flying around in the Crimple valley. The food was good, especially the ploughmans lunch. It is a good idea to have smaller portions of fish and chips and steak pie for older members.Only negative comment... My partner and I decided to go for a meal after a long, cold day fishing. As soon as we sat down a waiter (did not catch his name) came over and started chatting to us, he was ever so friendly and helpful! We have been in before where he served us and he had the exact same attitude! My... More

Popped in after a muddy walk round Crimple Beck. Entered from the Snug side, which really was a real adventure, lots of little nooks to sit in. Served some great beer. Dogs very welcome. Will be back.

We normally seek out a carvery but a friend recommended the Travellers Rest and although plated, we decided to book at the last minute and we weren't disappointed. The food was hot, fresh & plentiful, with rich flavours and judging by the full house its reputation preceded it. The staff were cheerful and attentive and they looked very smart in... More

We, a party of 4, turned up and were pleasantly greeted on entering. Unfortunately we had not booked, however a table was made available for us and drinks were ordered. The service we received albeit quite busy, was pleasant and polite. Two beef and two pork lunches were ordered which arrived within a reasonable time along with a selection of... More

For people who are mad enough to play golf in the winter this was the perfect choice for us. Just round the corner from Rudding Park, cosy traditional pub with open fires, great food and excellent service

We have dined at Travellers Rest at least 6 times now in the past 12 months & for some reason each experience has slipped slightly in terms of satisfaction. Our most recent visit was this past saturday. Table for 7. I had the Surf & Turf which was great, but just appeared basic. Steak, few prawns, chips & peas. Whereas... More

We had a table for 4 in a rally welcoming cost corner ( with our rather large dog). We all had different starters, great value, plenty of it and service was really good. Our 4 main meals were amazing in size, liver, sausages, fish and surf and turf. We all struggled to finish and none of us could manage pudding,... More

The Traveller’s Rest dates from the middle of the 17th Century and offers fantastic views over Crimple Valley, and for those twitchers amongst us don't forget all the Red Kites we have flying by and the white crow that roosts in the tree opposite. This quaint, rural pub is one of two pubs on the famous 'Ringway Walk' around Harrogate which runs along the private lane where the Traveller's Rest is situated. We are a stone's throw from the affluent spa town of Harrogate so you have the best of both worlds. The interior boasts old wooden beams, a stoned floor area and also a light airy conservatory which leads to the garden area. This is a perfect place for a celebration or get together for a function. The enviable position of the Traveller’s Rest is what makes it a very special destination, for a lovely meal or relaxing drink of traditional beer or glass of wine. We welcome local regulars, ladies who lunch and, given the walks around us, muddy boots and dogs! We even provide water bowls for our four legged friends.
