From the moment we walked in, it was wonderful. We had been recommended to try Sunday lunch here whilst staying at the Village hotel. Our waitress at the hotel said it was worth a visit and provided the contact details. When we arrived and shown...to our table we were all shocked to see an ice bucket and Prosecco on the table. The manager then came over and said they had been told by the Village hotel that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and our friend’s 60th!!! We were really touched and grateful. The drinks flowed after the gorgeous fizz we had an excellent bottle of red followed by brandy’s. The lunch was the star attraction. Two of us had beef and two had the lamb. My hubby isn’t a great lover of roast dinner but he ate every mouthful and said it was the best lamb he’s EVER had. Stuffed with garlic and Dijon it was a big hit. My beef if I’m honest was a little pink for my liking but it was superb, accompanied by roasted carrots, parsnip, crushed swede red and green cabbage, amazing roast potatoes and a side of cauliflower cheese. We even had desserts - Eton mess for two of us, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie delicious. Another surprise when we were presented with a dish with a brownie and a happy anniversary message. It was first class and even though we live in Cardiff we are definitely coming back. So thank you and well done to management and staff for making our lunch so unforgettable.More

Decided to give the Sun a go as the reviews are mainly good. The decor is lovely and the staff really friendly. However very dissapointed with the menu as it was chips with everything and quite boring. The chicken, chips and salad we had were...well cooked and nice but felt there was nothing very exciting on the main course menu. I think a lot of pubs have moved on from fish and chips, pie and chips, burger and chips ectMore

I've visited this pub for maybe 2 or 3 times and always happy with the friendly staff, great food and great atmosphere. We sat in the garden which was lovely. Great buzz without being loud and perfect spot for the sun! We took out dog...also which is great. We got a bit cold when the sun went in (typical British weather!) So we asked the staff if they could move us inside which they did no problem. Even helped us carry our drinks! Highly recommend especially if the sun is out or even if not, its super cozy inside!More

We had a nice lunch at the Sun Inn, couldn't fault the food but we ate in the bar area, which lacked atmosphere due to lack of other customers, even though it was a Friday of a Bank Holiday weekend. Several people were having drinks...outside, in the lovely garden area but it was a bit chilly for 2 senior citizens to eat outside! The staff were helpful and attentive.More

I have just returned after having a fantastic Family Sunday Lunch. I had Lamb and it was delicious, all the vegetables were fresh, the red cabbage was sublime, and extra Cauliflower Cheese. The Yorkshire puddings were amazing as was the gravy. I would highly recommend...eating in this lovely proper pub, the staff are friendly and attentive and there is a lovely family Vibe. We will definitely be back.More

This is not the place to visit if you are dropping in for a social pint (and not eating) and a cosy warm chat by the fire or standing up at the bar. The main warm pub area is strictly for dining customers only and...you, as a drinker, will be directed to a large outside tent with bench tables with all the atmosphere of the local cemetery, also it was very cold ( 7 degrees ) in this plastic tent but a person did arrive to put the high level heaters on, rather late as we had just about finished our pints and were about to leave due to the cold and our surrounds of emptiness. Shame really as I remember the Sun Inn to be a vibrant local village pub with people laughing and chatting at the bar and the surrounding tables were combined with people eating and drinking. What you would call a proper "pub atmosphere".More

I had the pleasure of having a meal at The Sun Inn recently. A lovely clean, well lit pub with friendly staff and warming ambience. The meal itself was delicious with a generous portion of everything and all beautfully cooked. You can tell the produce...is fresh and the food is home made. Happy to say that is not reflected in the price which was very reasonable given the quality. Service was prompt and friendly and the overall feel of the pub makes it very easy to recommend to others. I will certainly be returning!More
