Really enjoyed the food here! Very reasonably priced and good quality. This is our 3rd visit in a few weeks…slightly addicted! Only thing I’d say on this occasion was the fish was freshly cooked but needed draining for a few minutes…a bit greasy today but on other occasions it’s been crisp and delicious.
Choice of spicy or mild curry sauce. I stuck to mild which is the usual I’d expect at a chippy, might try spicy next time!

Visited one evening had 2 small cod,1 large cod,1 large chips and mushy peas. Order taken quickly, reasonable wait for food. This tasted freshly cooked was not greasy and tasted excellent. Prices were reasonable too and portions of a good size.

Popped in on a chilly Friday afternoon needing warming up..
Very clean premises, lovely friendly staff. A huge portion of piping hot chips & Gravy.. Heaven 😁.. The fish looked gorgeous. Need to pay another visit.. Well done Queen Vic

went in today ordered haddock and small chips was charged for standard chips.
the girl serving was very pleasant. got my meal now haddock 5 50 . the portions now are a lot smaller. and still frozen fish which is no were near as good as fresh. the fish was well overcooked with a massive amount of very hard batter this place is now overpriced going downhill fast. wont be going back.

Rang my order through and was told to pick it up 20 minutes. Arrived and they hadnt even started it. Then one of the girls who was serving said I was annoying because I looked at her while waiting for my order. The chicken burger was miserable, my scallops were way overdone and tasted burnt and the peas with my steak pudding were missing.
I haven’t ever had such a bad experience as I did today. I haven’t been since before the lockdown and won’t be going again.

Fish and chips always great value and very tasty, however on my recent visit, only 1, (of 5 staff) weaing face coverings, and despite numerous signs insisting customer should wear face coverings, (now a legal requirement), a chap came in without any, was allowed to order and stand in the middle of the shop without being challenged/reminded. As the food is cooked to order, (great}, this situation lasted quite a while. Unfortunately I shall not be returning until things change.

I arrived at the shop and ordered my fish and chips. There was no one before me. 3 minutes after I ordered another customer came to order so I stood and waited outside. He ordered and then also waited outside so I returned.
When my order was ready, a very rude woman behind the counter shouted out "Large Fish and Chips". She looked over my head and was clearly addressing the person waiting outside. She shouted again, so I looked over my shoulder to see if anyone else was in the shop and then said to her, "I am the only one here". She ignored me and walked from behind the counter and asked the person outside if he ordered, to which he said no. She came in and I said to her that I think it is mine. She was very rude and said, "why didn't you say so". I said, well I am the only one standing inside waiting for an order, there was no one before me and the other person waiting outside just ordered a few minutes ago.
I felt she was clearly being racist. This is not a card I play lightly, but she was white and so was the other customer and I was not. She did not even give us any serviettes. Absolutely appalling service.
If this place desires to continue, this lady should not be working there.
Looking at other reviews I can see that other customers also had similar rude experience from this woman.

BC (before covid) wife and I went to the Queen Vic at least once a week for a sit down meal, rarely take-away. Today was the first return since covid-19 came about. I phoned to see if they were open as normal but was told it was take-away only. I asked if there was any chance to have a couple of chairs outside so we could eat there as I use a elbow crutch to walk now, unsteadily, and we travel by bus, everbody say aaww. We were sorted with a table and chairs on the pavement, cod and chips were the usual excellent fare.... and we'll be back! Thank you so much. (too many chips!!).

What more can I say.
The best chippy. Great Fish & Chips. Fish battered to order. Nice and fresh and crispy batter.
Good portion sizes.
My go to chippy.
By far head & shoulder above the standard.
Because it is soo good, I probably eat more fish & chips than I should. Naughty but nice:)

6.40p small fish, chips and peas ( portion are big) ONLY prob is the chips are cut pretty THIN so I threw about 3rd away , the peas THIS TIME where a dark green and a bit stui ( stuck together ) so I as good as threw them all away and the fush was pretty dry inside ( I did eat it all as I was hungry) they need to cut the chips THICKER !!!,

It's very GOOD chippy for fish and +chips and cheap , the only problem is the meat !!! sausages are NOT pork ( because its hala Muslim ban) the taste like turkey , the pies are about a 3 if that ( Holland pies would batter them all over) and beef burgers bordering on ridiculous, the barm is OK, the burger pretty poor and the salad was a joke just a tiny prace of lettuce , I have NEVR had a burger with out onions or tomatoes in the salad, if you go just get fish +chips anything related to meat boarding on useless

I recently purchased three regular portions of fish and chips from Queen Vic for my family, and unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The chips were undercooked and tough, and the fish had an nauseating off taste that left us concerned about potential food poisoning.
Upon contacting the shop to address this matter, I was met with a dismissive response from the staff. The woman I spoke to seemed to imply that I was attempting to exploit the situation for a refund, which was both insulting and unprofessional. Shockingly, this lack of empathy came from a place where we've been loyal customers, traveling a considerable distance for our meals. Despite being promised a callback from the manager to discuss the issue, I have received no follow-up.
To make matters worse, today everyone who consumed the fish and chips is experiencing stomach issues, suggesting a serious lapse in food safety. Given our past positive experiences and the considerable distance we travel to dine at Queen Vic, this incident has been a profound letdown. I would strongly caution others to reconsider spending their money here and explore alternative dining options.

Daughter is at University here and the bad thing is it's took almost 2 years before we came here
Food was spot on and much cheaper than Warrington chip shops
Nice staff as well, glad our girl works in Preston as well so i can come here regularly when we visit
