My husband & I visit every week preferring a " proper" little cafe instead of the larger named ones which tend to have no personal touch to them.. The Old Bell is always very clean, the food which is very good is served quickly and the staff are very pleasant ,efficient and friendly., .All in all a lovely little cafe... More

My friend and I wanted somewhere for lunch but didn't want a fast food place, we found this wonderful cafe down an alley (called Bashful Alley) and were suitably impressed, service was quick, food delicious will definitely go back there

I love the fact that this café is tucked away in a little alley and you have to look to find it. It serves great food and drinks and the portion sizes for their cakes are generous. It can get very busy at peak times and they really need to move on with the times and accept cards and contactless... More

Too over crowded and staff appeared rushed. Staff did not listen to order properly therefore did not receive food cooked to requirements as requested. Standard of food below average, unfortunately had to return one of the orders. Staff were very sorry and a replacement was given which was better but would not revisit or recommend.

We have been to the Old Bell on numerous occasions and it has always been very good especially the bacon sandwiches! I can't comment on anything else as we always have the same making sure they are on toasted white bread, very unhealthy! I am sure everything is to the same standard! The staff are extremely pleasant as are the... More

lovely food, nicely priced, the waitress was lovely, very friendly, helpful and pleasant, shame I cant say the same about the manager, never smiled once or even gave us eye contact, seemed quite rude, needs a lesson off the waitress about customer service!!!

I loved the warm Ciabatta sandwich with bacon... Breakfast served all day. Good coffee. Locals frequent the place. Mind, cash only!

I go here regularly and am always warmly welcomed, they do a full all day breakfast menu option which I always go for, you can get a half breakfast as well. Freshly cooked and piping hot. Great coffees and teas. Staff are efficient and they clean the tables scrupulously after guests have left. Lovely cakes. Don't ever change guys!!

Visited this lovely cafe for the first time today and what a lovely experience! It's table service, fabulous menu and specials, I had poached egg on toast, I got 3! Along with 2 slices of toast and only £3.20! Lovely and hot, and the service was second to none. As an added treat as you pay there is a dish... More
