We had lunch here and will definitely be back - if you are looking for a gastro pub in the Cotswolds this ticks all boxes. It was fairly quiet but we were slightly later than a standard lunch sitting. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Great menu, all food was excellent and we could completely understand why the chips... More

This was the second time we have visited this establishment since it's refurbishment which is now under new management. We settled for the lunch of the day of fish pie which I would describe as a upside down one mash being on the bottom and the fish on top. The meal was cooked very well and good value, the service... It's been awhile since we last went here and it is now under new management. Fergus was not there last night and so we did not meet him which was a shame as we had a good relationship with the previous managers. It was a little disconcerting to be welcomed with the limitations on the menu - we had a... More

Sunday evening isn't a busy time for dinner, so the place was quiet (which suited us very well). Friendly welcome from a cheery woman. They'd been busy at lunchtime, so all the specials were sold out, but that's the risk you take on a Sunday. The starters were both excellent, especially the cauliflower soup with blue cheese toastie. We both... More

My visit was on a freezing cold day, you know the sort. Blue skies, icy roads. Sunshine and bitter cold. We'd wrapped up warm. Scarves, gloves and hats. Yes that cold. So when arriving at the pub for lunch, having booked online requesting a table near the fire, we were surprised and annoyed to be shown into the empty cold... More
