Once again we had a great meal at the Bowling Green today!! The roast dinner was excellent - great value, large portion, piping hot, well cooked and quality ingredients! Staff are very friendly and efficient - nothing is too much trouble! Highly recommend!!!

The Bowling Green (in my opinion) is often overlooked as a dining venue due to it's proximity to The Horse and Jockey and other 'trendier' venues on Beech Road. However, we went for Sunday lunch and it was fabulous! A traditional pub, with friendly and efficient staff, great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Friendly staff Well presented straightforward food. Which tasted good and was a decent portion considering on a buy a burger and pint offer. Excellent value for money. Would definitely call again for a quick bite to eat.

Having read the reviews, I had hoped the Sunday roast would be good. It wasn't. Very disappointing. The beef was overcooked, the roast potatoes undercooked and the mashed potatoes congealed.

Without doubt the best Guinness in South Manchester. Great pub with friendly management, staff and regulars.

Dropped in here with my wife on a recent sunny Sunday afternoon. The pub was busy with families and people watching both football and the GAA. It's a friendly lively pub with great staff and a more than decent choice of ales and lagers. We had a Sunday roast. Me the lamb, my wife the beef. The barmaid asked us... More

Food (and drink) is decent value (around 10 pounds for a burger and sides) and very nice (especially the Sunday lunch menu). They show a wide range of sports, premiership footy and GAA, seems to be a very nice crowd who drink there as I haven't seen any animosity during footy games and the landlord (Mark) and staff are all... We had our daughters 1st birthday party here and it was fantastic. The landlord Mark couldn't do enough to help us make it the most perfect party. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food was gorgeous and all my guests said so. The beer is the best especially San Miguel on draft and not over priced. Big car... More

Description
We are a warm and welcoming traditional pub that prides itself on providing great quality homemade food, sourced from local suppliers, such as the award winning 'Frost' the butchers of Chorlton. We are a family friendly pub showing all live sports, from the premiership football to the Irish GAA. Our recently refurbished Green Room is now dog friendly, providing a warm atmosphere to sit and have a drink after a long walk in the Chorlton Ees meadows just across the road. For those rare hot summer days, we have a large beer garden to sit and enjoy a cold drink and bowling green for a fun game of bowls with your friends. We have baby changing facilities in both the ladies and the mens toilets and a good sized car park to the rear of the pub. We offer free function room hire for a variety of occasions, from funerals to christenings, with no minimum number of guests required, nothing is too big or too small for us to cater for, just ask ! We look forward to seeing you soon. Mark,Jenny and all the team.
