I rarely get here these days but, when my mum came to visit us it seemed an ideal opportunity. It was a weeknight and they were offering a very reasonable set menu. My starter of moules was excellent and my mum said that her white onion soup was also excellent. We both followed with superbly cooked lamb. All this was... More

It was obvious that the meat and veg were sourced with quality in mind. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, the meat with the Sunday roast was tender. Desserts were't to big, so it was possible to enjoy the sweetness without being overwhelmed. Staff were helpful.

I'd been wanting to visit The Lime Tree for quite some time after hearing nothing but good things but I was left somewhat underwhelmed.... I ordered a cheese soufflé starter which wasn't particularly cheesy and the nuts around it didn't work for me at all. It was pretty to look at but didn't really deliver. For my main I ordered... I have been to The Lime tree many times and always had an excellent meal & service , so I was really looking forward to my recent visit a week ago . It was to be a birthday celebration . On first glance at the menu I was horrified to see that there was not one single item on the... More

With an almost colonial feel, the menu for this restaurant hardly ever changes, year on year, as though stuck in the 50's or 60's. However, the food is top-notch, and the atmosphere is like restaurants should be. Quiet, respectable, comfortable and friendly. Save up 'cos it's not cheap, but it is worth it. I go with my wife once a... More

I went with my girlfriend's family and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The food was good and we enjoyed (plenty of) wine, the scallop starter was special.

We went to this restaurant for a Wine Society Dinner. There was a large group - over 40 people in a back room on tables of about 8 people. It was relaxed and fun. The food was amazing - really very, very good considering the number of people being catered for (there were a large number of tables booked -... More

We visited The Lime Tree due to my girlfriend being given a birthday present gift card to eat here and we were very pleased with everything about the place. The ambience was excellent and we were seated quickly, the staff were very good and the steak was one of the best I have eaten. I highly recommend this establishment 👍

Brought my boyfriends parents here when they were over from Ireland. The food did not disappoint. Everything was exquisite and would definitely go again once I've saved up some pennies!

Excellent Sunday lunch. Went with daughter, niece and partners plus grandson. Very well looked after. We stayed traditional and the lamb and beef were really well cooked. All trimmings all you could expect. Prosecco and a bottle of Madiran, a treat, were excellent. Now very nicely decorated for Christmas and staff excellent.
