We went with a group from work and they managed to accommodate about 12 of us. We went for tapas and the food was good quality and ample amounts - most people catered for - including those with allergies. Also can cater for vegans but...More

My family have been visiting El Rincon de Rafa for years. We've always had a positivite experience and last night was no exception. Fantastic tapas and great desserts too. The kids (6 and 3) loved it an we'll definitely be returning.

Every time we come to Rafa's we have great food and come away satisfied! Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but the staff are lovely and make you feel welcome. My only real negative that I wish could change is for the Paella options...More

Amazed by the huge offer of Spanish restaurants in Manchester, we decided to have dinner in this bar. I was again at home surrounded by Spanish staff hanging from the walls, and of course, Man City and Man United T-shirts. The menu offer is really...More

After finally finding the place, it's tucked away round the back on Deansgate, I have to say this is the best Spanish food I have had outside of spain. A lot of the others are style over substance but this one is authentic and concentrates...More

Visited for the first time in many years as usually hard to get a table. After this meal I am surprised it remains so popular. On arrival there were no waitering staff, so we had to stand and wait for 5 minutes to be shown...More

A large group of friends had a great night with loads of different tapas dishes and copious amounts of great Rioja. The staff were friendly and understanding of our wishes. Really good.

I normally say 10pm - they will serve later, but you really need to sit down by 10 if you want to get a good range of dishes. And yes, it's a good idea to book - can get very busy from Thursday onwards. The food is... More

Sorry you'll have to ask the restaurant if they do gluten free bread etc but I would think you could eat there by only choosing tapas that did not involve flour..

El Rincón de Rafa is Manchester's longest-serving independent Spanish restaurant, having been in the city centre for 22 years. A family run establishment, El Rincón is regularly described as a 'hidden gem' and offers a relaxed, authentic experience, brought to Manchester from Málaga by owner Rafael Cabrera-Vargas. El Rincón offers a large range of tapas and main courses (including paellas) and a fully stocked bar with a huge variety of Spanish beers (both bottles and draught) and wines. The off the beaten track but central location of El Rincón (close to the Hilton hotel - turn down St John's St from Deansgate and take the first right) ensures an unbeatable authentic Spanish atmosphere, but with hidden nooks and crannies for a more intimate feel. The restaurant doesn't accept bookings for two, seating couples at a number of tables on a first come, first served basis. Customers are also welcome to visit just the bar for food and/or drinks. Que aproveche!
