I am one picky and fussy individual ... I like to think. Fabulous food and even better service. Bored and alone I asked for a paper and they went out and bought one !! Can’t fault and honestly the food is very good .

Restaurant took our booking and a few days before told us that because of the size of our group (7 people), we could only eat from a set menu. Not really the Tapas experience we were after so cancelled and booked El Rincon de Rafa.

Booked a table for 10 with a set menu, ensured there would be enough food for everybody. The set menu was in fact shared between three people. The desert, a cupcake sized piece of almond cake, was cut into thirds and supposed to be a...More

Very nice upper class tapas restaurant. Service was great very nice warm welcome on a cold wet night. Food was nice! A couple of things were either abit pricey for what it was or just not quite there. Example the meats board starter was £15...More

We went for the tasting menu with wine flight and we were not disappointed. All dishes were good with some excellent - shrimp, squid ink croquettes and chicken dishes in particular. Sherry/wine accompaniments worked well and complemented the dishes. Cocktail a bit too sweet for...More

The restaurant was lovely, very relaxed whilst still classy. Staff were brilliant, attentive and very helpful. We had the taster menu and it was delicious, neither of us had any faults with all 10 courses! Certainly made a fantastic start to our evening in Manchester!...More

Nice atmosphere and pleasant service. A bit warm and stuffy in the restaurant. Could use some air. Tasty Gambas al Romescu (king prawns), but was not a inviting colourful dish - and ok chicken esaclopes (could be juicier) with Asian style BBQ sauce. That's what...More

Really enjoyable evening - food was excellent and some great wine pairings on the tasting menu (especially the dessert wine). Only point I might make is that the espresso martini was one drink too many for a weekday! Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere too.

I love both these places. Both have great lunch deals. I would agree that La Bandera has a more modern twist based on Canaries dishes and La Vina has a less pricey wine offering and more casual feel.
