Delightful dining experience in the heart of Strasbourg. The staff were helpful and attentive in this busy little restaurant. We chose our appetizer, main and dessert from the varied fixed price menu. The arepas were crispy but tender, the chicken dish and steak skewers were...fantastic and each came with potatoes and small salad. We ended with chocolate lava cake and a chocolate mousse with mangoes. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and made to perfection. Highly recommend.More

Fantastic, flavorful seafood dishes. Such a wonderful break from the local, tiresome cuisine offered in so many places. Wonderful staff. Wish we had gone sooner so we could have returned during our stay. Best in Strasbourg.

Not so many choices but very good tipical food. Fresh ingredients and surprising flavors. Small restaurant perfect for a dinner for couples or small groups. Reservation is highly recommended

We visited for dinner at this South American restaurant. The Good. 1. We booked by phone which was convenient and the service throughout was friendly and efficient. The staff offered to speak English and did so excellently. 2. The menu was from across South America...with ceviche, Mexican dishes and through to empanadas. Everything we had was excellent. The empanadas had great flavour, the duck was excellent as was the beef with chimichurri sauce. 3. The desserts were also great. I loved the cheesecake with lime and coconut and the chocolate dessert with dulce de leche was also great. 4. The drinks had a South American theme and we enjoyed pisco cocktails and South American wines. 5. The food was good value with 3 courses for €28. The Bad. 1. A little hard to find. Overall Really enjoyable South American food and would definitely return.More

Relying on recommendations, we searched out Santa Elena on a little side street in central Strasbourg. I walked right by it three times before realizing I was standing right outside. We inquired about a table for three for lunch and were told, apologetically, that they...were full. We were reading the menu at another place down the street when the young woman from Santa Elena walked up and said they had a cancellation and we could have a table if we wished. The gesture was so kind that I almost didn’t care about the food, but it was wonderful. Our server suggested a Chilean wine that was the perfect accompaniment to delicious, well-prepared food. We shared empanadas as an appetizer, and they were as good as in Buenos Aires! The plat du jour was either chicken on a guacamole sauce with roasted potatoes or a lovely white fish with puréed sweet potatoes. We tried both, and everything was terrific. The ambience of this small restaurant is quite nice, stylish but cozy. Service was very friendly and attentive. If you’re ready for superb cooking, welcoming service, and a delicious break from huge quantities of pork and sauerkraut, try Santa Elena. You won’t regret it.More

Hidden in a side street, unimposing on the outside and away from the steady stream of tourists through Grand Rue and Petite France, this lovely restaurant is a hidden jewel. The food is delicious (dishes from different Latin American countries), the service is excellent and...the atmosphere is lovely. A real discovery!More

Noticed it was advertised as South American kitchen. Haven’t had that since some time so gave it a try. Really didn’t regret that. Menu was interesting with some dishes from different parts of SA, Peru, Argentina Ecuador. I had full dinner and everything was very...well prepared and presented. On top of that very good service and reasonably priced. Will return.More

Really enjoyed tonight’s meal at Santa Elena. I spent ages looking through trip advisor and finally settled on this place and it was worth the visit. Starters were simply delicious - hubby had a beef Pattie and I had a fish vinaigrette salad which were...Devine. For main hubby had a steak which was cooked to perfection and I had a mixed seafood spicy creamy tomato dish with rice which was jammed with fish, prawns and mussels. The restaurant were very accommodating to us and our baby in the pram. Even though it was busy the waitress kindly translated the menu for us. Overall, great service and great food :-)More

As a tourist in France it’s often difficult to communicate in restaurants when you don’t speak French. A lot of staff hardly speaks English and menus are never translated (hurray for Google translate!). Our experience in this restaurant was completely different (except for the French...menu ;-)). The hostess really tried her best to be of service in English and even took some extra time to talk to us, despite the restaurant being completely booked and she found it difficult to speak in English. She made us feel very welcome! The food was also nice. We had the 3 course menu which I think offers really nice dishes for a good price. We had great last night of our holiday here!More

I ate here with a friend who adores meat and we were not disappointed. The meat is excellent, the staff are friendly and there is a nice feel to the room.

My wife and I went here for lunch. We both had the filet with salad. Nothing to complain about here. The meat was well prepared and tender. Not as tender as we have experienced like in the States but still good. The outer crust and...taste was also pleasing. They could work a bit more on a welcoming manner while serving the guests. This waiter was pretty brief.More
