Seems and obvious review title but put simply this is a fanrastic place for a simple lunch or dinner of oysters with some nice wine. Could not fault the quality of the food...But there is just something missing here to make it 5 star. It...More

My husband loves oysters and he previously thought the best ones he had were in Australia, but he now declares these are the best he’s ever had! We also went to an oyster bar out in Arcachon Bay, but these oysters topped them.

Stopped by this boîte for some oysters and wine after a day of traveling. Good, relaxing atmosphere, really good oysters.

Walking along Bordeaux’s shopping area, we stopped because we saw the oyster bar with a waiter opening the oysters right in front of us. We had an oyster platter with 12 oysters, a pate and a cheese platter. All were excellent. The service was really...More

One thing that makes me love good restaurants in France is that you can see how they prepare your food. We decided to try La Boîte à Huitres in Bordeaux and as we were approaching the restaurant, we noticed a worker shucking oysters right before...More

How gorgeous is this restaurant !! Fab service, elegant crisp surroundings, amazing platters of oysters - but if a work of art- and an incredibly reasonable plat du jour which was being enjoyed by about 50 people while we were there at midday. I can’t...More

I have dinner at this restaurant. There are many types of oysters available and I have ordered three to try. Those Oysters are very fresh and taste make me unforgettable. I must revisit if i have chance to travel Bordeaux again.

I had the best oysters I have tasted in France, not expensive and the waiter was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Loved a dinner here. Waiter took time to explain (in the best English he could muster) that the Oysters vary on a scale of salty and scale of slimy (or that's what I think he said). Opted for the tasting platter which had a selection...More

The lunch menu at €20 is GREAT value - starter, TWELVE oysters, glass of wine and dessert. €20!! The friendliest staff we've come across in Bordeaux too. The oysters were fresh, the bread was fresh, the wine was chilled - we'll probably go back again...More

I'm afraid they only take reservation by phone according to their website (see the "Faire une réservation" page). But it shouldn't be hard to get a table if you walk-in before 7pm on a weekday. Hope this helps.

Réservation n'est pas obligatoire. J'y suis allée comme walk-in, c'était jeudi soir vers 18h et il y avait beaucoup de places, même en terrasse.
