Came by in early evening and requested glass or two of wine. Tables were set, only one person in place. We requested a .couple glasses wine. They couldn't be troubled to serve us if not having dinner.

We ate here on our first evening in Bergerac. We had a variety of dishes and all of them were good though of varying value - for example the price of the omelette was more than the steak!

I was in Bergerac looking for some really tasty food and came across "Le Sud". I enjoy Moroccan food park, particularly a good lamb tajine. Unfortunately, I decided to order a sea food "brick" which consisted of mussels and bits of calamari - both were over cooked and looked more like samosas than authentic North African "brick". The waiter said... More

We were looking for Sunday Lunch between Christmas and New Year as a party of 7 without reservations, everywhere looked busy but we could see empty tables in this small but accommodating restaurant. We were made most welcome and a delicious meal of tagine, couscous, and kebabs was produced. Sensibly priced with the option of the fixed price 3 course... More

Le Sud is on the fringe of Bergerac Old Town and has both indoor and terrace seating, we arrived late on the anniversary of our wedding and were a party of eight (including two children). We had not made a reservation and the team were very accommodating. Tables were hastily rearranged and before we knew it we were being seated... More

We chose this little restaurant quite by chance and were so glad we did. Friendly lady waiting on and despite her English and our French being poor we managed to get a handle on the quite unusual menu. All the meals were very good and the couscous with chicken was quite delightful and was plentiful and tasty. Excellent value for... More

After seeing most of the Bergerac restaurants offering fairly standard fare we decided to try Le Sud. We were warmly welcomed by the Moroccan lady owner and although a bit wary at being the only diners decided to give it a go. After aperitifs and starters wonderful smells wafted from the kitchen area and our lamb tagine and royal couscous... More

We recently had a few days in Bergerac and had meals in the top two restaurants, which were excellent but we both felt that our meal in Le Sud was even better. In fact we were very surprised that it has such a low scoring. The lamb tagine and the chicken cous cous were just delicious and the sorbet and... More

After a week of French, Basque and Italian restaurants this was a welcome change. Service was cheerful, the tagine and couscous hot and tasty, and the mint tea poured in true Moroccan style. Very pleasant.
