Very popular in Summer so you sometimes need to book. This place just serves tarts (so savoury tarts like quiche and sweet tarts like fruit tarts). You can also get salads to go with your tart. The quality is excellent and if you want a light meal, this is a delicious option.

Enjoyed this small shop featuring quiche. I enjoyed "Fontarrabie: modules, poivrons, oignons, and basilic" for the mussels and delicious cheese. Yum!! Others in our party equally enjoyed their quiche selections and we shared a small carafe of rose wine. Spilt a dessert quiche of wild blueberries. A MUST DO if you want to get something different from standard restaurant fare.

Small off the beaten path with amazingly good food. A family operation with children's drawings in the main cook area which to us says a lot about the people running the place. Prices were on the very low end for Saint Jean de Luz which is another reason to walk an extra block away from the main restaurant area. $2... More

We were wandering around St. Jean Du Luz trying to figure out dinner. The window display of the quiches...main dish and sweet...drew us in! It was simple yet extremely enticing! We walked away and quickly turned around...so glad we did!!! The portions were very satisfying and the prices extremely reasonable! Would highly recommend if you want good, tasty food! The... More

Looking for a light lunch after a big breakfast and a bracing coastal walk, we chanced on Tarteria Muscade and were so tempted by the window display that we gave it a go. We shared a slice of omelette/frittata which had carrots, broccoli and roquefort cheese in it - very tasty indeed. It was accompanied by bread and a green... More

Being gluten intolerant I was delighted to stumble on this charming small restaurant one lunch time. You can eat in or take away your slice for a picnic. Fresh delicious tarts and vegetable flans (no gluten). 3 visits in one week and such friendly owners who were kind enough to serve us before their opening hours on our last day... More

I was determined to have authentic quiche during my trip to Southern France. I happily found it at Tarterie Muscade. I had lunch there twice, once having a vegetarian quiche with zucchini (courgette) and the second time having the Onassis quiche with eggplant (aubergine) and ground meat. Both were delicious. The quiche was served with a simple fresh lettuce salad.... More

We ate lunch is this lovely little restaurant. A vast choice of pies, we ate the chicken pie with curry and the potato and cheese. Both generous portions which we shared, really tasty and although heated in a microwave the pastry was not too soggy as it was very thin which we like. With a well dressed green salad a... More

The quiches are excellent and the desert choices are equally as good. Good place for lunch or supper. The portions are generous and prepared daily. The family run place prepare all the ingredients from scratch and they have unique recipes. I tried a quiche with Calamari. The Kenyan chocolate pie is to die for. Make sure to add the salad...
