It was difficult to tell if our server was rude, or just uncomfortable because he was uncomfortable speaking English. At any rate, 4 of us ordered the tasting menu and found the food mediocre, extremely salty (some of it inedibly so), and the beef was...More

Had a delightful time at this restaurant in an Abbey that dated from 1131. Had a chance to look around and meet the gracious owners prior to dinner. Very elegant, tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean throughout. Dinner was very good. Osso bucco and lamb were...More

This is a really lovely location but I don't think the food or service merit a Michelin star. It isn't bad but nothing I tasted had a wow factor and the service was a bit amateurish. The menu lacked originality. I ordered a pork chop...More

We spent a delightful week at the Abbaye. The owners are an English couple who are quite engaged in the day-to-day affairs of the Abbaye. Indeed, Clive seems to have boundless energy and enthusiasm for the property and the enjoyment of all of his guests....More

You will not find a more beautiful property. An old Cisterian abbey restored with lovely English fabrics. Very refined public areas. I have been disappointed with their food recently. No swimming. In the middle of the beautiful Burgundy countryside.

We recently visited the Abbaye de la Bussiere for Sunday brunch. Because brunch is a less-known concept in France, we were not sure what to expect. The verdict was mixed. The restaurant served appetizers, main dishes, and desserts at separate stations, located in different locations....More
