We had two light suppers in this cafe which were fine, local trade together with refugee's from the fine cuisine hotels in town. Madame was very attentive, although busy, and the old fashioned surroundings added to the occasion. not fine dining but more than adequate.

This cafe has been here since 1832 and whichever previous reviewer said it hadn't been decorated since, probably had it about right. But that's rather charming to jaded London eyes. The staff are lovely, it's a great location and the drinks aren't expensive. We ate supper there one night - having suffered with a terrible tummy bug and not eaten... More

The prices on the menu were expensive,6 euros for a small green salade 8 euros for some cheese and 15 euros for a simple plat du jour.Three people serving a small crowd but running round like mad hatters and very inefficient .We got the cheese and salade but no bread and after half an hours wait and asking twice again... We only popped in for a few drinks to escape the omnipresent rain we've had this last week travelling through France. Nice welcome, and a good chilled Kronenburg or two, and a decent Pinot noir, served for some peculiar reason in a brandy glass. Apparently this cafe opened in 1832, and I don't think it's been redecorated since. But rustic... More

Unpretentious old fashioned cafe. Staff very friendly especially if you make an effort to speak a bit of French! Full of locals rather than tourists. Food simple and good at very reasonable prices.

Yes lovely old French cafe and food was good and the staff were very friendly. It is behind the main road in the centre of the village.

Don't expect gourmand cooking but you don't get gourmand prices. For a quick lunch/snack this is the place to be especially on a nice sunny day - watch the world go by and enjoy a croquet monsieur or an enormous 'sandwich'. Add a glass of beer, a glass of wine or an excellent coffee all served by the delightful Karen.... More

Well this place is different. Oak flooring that has stood the test of time. I would definitely recommend going to this cafe. We had espresso from a very nice woman behind the bar. Locals fancy the place too.

After looking over several very expensive restaurants on the highway through Saulieu, we stopped into Cafe Parisien, located in the center of the ville, for lunch . It was just what we were looking for- local fare at a reasonable price. My wife had potatoes with cheese melted on top with a green salad. I had the same except I... More
