Indifferent service, badly cooked food. I had to send my plate back as the meat had been cooked beyond recognition. At least i got an apology but not an improvement. I have to say that the wine and the San Pellegrino were the best thing...More

Hello MarcosH, Thank you for your review. Even if we're really sorry you didn't enjoy your meal, I think that you use inappropriate comments when you talk about "poor French provincial cooking". Thank you for being respectful.

This was the most expensive of the restaurants we visited in Loches and so we were expecting to be wowed and, although the food was good, it didn't impress as much as less expensive restaurants had. I'm not sure why exactly as the food was...More

You can't go wrong if you choose this restaurant. It was recommended by our hotel and we had a great night. The food is excellent, the ambiance sitting on the outside patio was lovely and the service was attentive and friendly.

The Grebe d'Or (Golden Wheatsheaf) has a stylish dining room and a wisteria-shaded terrace. Service is very good (English spoken) and the owner and manager are present and attentive. The menu is varied but a bit to fancy (we would prefer traditional French cusisine). It...More

Had a lovely lunch here on a very hot Tuesday in Loches. The main course (lightly curried Guinea fowl in coconut milk) in particular was stunning. For less than 14E per person including a pretty decent glass of wine it was also fabulous value.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our hosts in a nearby B&B. Despite not having booked, we were made to feel welcome. The service was prompt, friendly and courteous and the food excellent. We are very happy to pass on the recommendation.

One of my favourite restaurants in Loches which I have not managed to visit for a very long time. Delicious food, great wine list, lovely ambience, attentive yet discreet staff. We will be back for lunch.

Accepting a recommendation to visit Loches on Market Day, and to make sure we made a reservation at La Gerbe d'Or, we made sure of a good day and an excellent lunch. The Menu de Jour was excellent, and even better when we found that...More

Since nearly one century, the restaurant La Gerbe d'Or is a place of familiar appointment for lots of Lochois. The "Tuffeau" breathes the perfumes of the seasons, the large fireplace-dreams of the coloured scents of the aromas, with sweet and savoury spices, and the porch is curved to pay homage to this place where cooking becomes gastronomy.
