After visiting the chateau de Villandry in the morning we had lunch outside in this restaurant just next to the chateau.
The food was really delicious either the chiche or the vegetarian food, generous portions with high quality ingredients.
Just had a very pleasant lunch post visiting the chateau and gardens. Food choice good, also able to cater for Lactose intolerant diner both mains and in desert. But do not expect menu specific for this food allergen.
Good atmosphere. Busy, but no sense of...being rushed.
Very good service, with staff that could assist the english only speaking diners in the party’s
All staff attending to tables wore masks.More
Following a lovely morning at Chateaux de Villandry, we fell upon this lovely canopy which housed La Doulce Terrasse just as we exited the castle. It was a cold damp day so the canopy walls were dropped and portable heaters warmed us up. We ordered...Quiche Lorraine, Quiche Salmon and Duck salad. The side salads we were served were so fresh and tasty. The service was very welcoming and our small pet dog was offered a bowl of water. I would highly recommend this venue for a delicious lunch!More
We needed to find somewhere to eat after our morning visit to Chateau Villandry and chose this place as it is literally adjoining the Chateau on the main road.
Friendly welcoming staff and a good menu with plenty of choice.
We arrived at exactly midday...and by 1.00pm the 'Complet' full sign was put up, so I recommend you get there early. Very popular restaurant due in no small part to its location
Thank you, La Doulce Terrasse. Your lunch was equally as good as our last visit 3 years ago. Your use of wonderful flavours, edible flowers, gels, local produce is brilliant. We had both a vegetarian option (also gluten free) and a full-on meat plat. Both...were stunning. The café gourmand is sheer indulgence! Dog friendly.. (a water bowl was brought, without us asking). Plenty of shade on a 35c day. I hope we don’t leave it another 3 years before our next visit🐶😎More
This was our second trip to La Doulce Terrasse. We visited in August 2016 and had a really memorable meal so I thought we risked spoiling the memory with a return visit. However this was equally delightful if not better. I had Stuffed Zucchini served...on a bed of vegetables and Quinoa. They combine the food with flavours of herbs and flowers from the Château gardens so well here every mouthful is a delight. I had the vegetarian option but my partner was equally pleased with a meat option. The staff are polite and friendly and of course being in France our new puppy was welcomed with open arms.More
We were starving after viewing the Chateau and were quickly seated. Staff was friendly but with too leisurely a pace for me. My quiche was hot and good. Our salads were fantastic! So many different greens and all of them fresh!

The "restaurant" is right at the entrance. It is pretty rudimentary, more a cafe than a restaurant. It has a small menu but it does lean heavily towards salads and vegetables. My wife and I had really delicious non-vegan salads. The sole server also appeared to be the chef. Initially he appeared to be grumpy and unhelpful but, when he realised I spoke French well, he turned out to have a good sense of humour and was very helpful. I am fairly certain that you should be able to get a vegan meal if you are happy with salad stuff. There are a number of restaurants in Villandry village nearby but you will need to leave the chateau and return by car unless you are enthusiastic walkers. Why not just take a packed lunch and picnic. Whatever you do don't miss out on Villandry chateau and gardens. They are truly spectacular and our all-time favourite visit.
