We stopped for a beer and whiskey, my husband was done with wine and needed something different. We arrived late afternoon and the place was really empty, I had a london stout and he had a Nikka whiskey, for both it was 17.40 Euros or 19.66USD for a beer and shot. It was expensive and we left. The bar tender... More

Management response:

Hi, We genuinely welcome all football fans, no matter which team they support (our team is made of British, Australians, Brazilian...). We also allow our customers to spend as much time as they want, so I shall look at what happened that day and address this internally. In the meantime we hope to see you at the next Chelsea and/or... Went with friends to watch English football but there was a Paris st Germain match on later that evening , was on my 3rd pint and was asked to leave as the place was booked out . Never come across this in a pub before , I wasn't drunk and I was behaving impeccably. Being asked to leave when I... More

Management response:

Hi Jason, First of all thank you for stopping by, we're always happy to welcome English customers. I am really sorry that you felt you were asked to leave; what happened is that on busy match days, some customers book a space or a table in advance, and it our duty to honour these bookings, therefore when the time of... This is my first visit for a pub in Paris. I arrived Paris quite late that evening and many of the restaurants are closing. Just passed by this place and saw lots of people inside. I went into it and ordered a burger meal. This is also my first time to order a burger out of the fast food chain... More

Was there for a quick dinner, nice service and excellent burger, 4 stars because they showed France vs Danmark and not Germany 😆

This was 2 streets away from my hotel - didnt have a reservation, but the bar staff found me a table anyway and I ordered a blue cheese burger with frites - portion sizes enormous, enough to leave me satisfied. Make sure when you order that your meal is cooked correctly - I ordered medium-well done. When it arrived, it... More

There were hundreds of Brasseries and restaurants we could have chosen, but we simply walked into this one. The food (sports bar fare) was very good with ample servings. But the best part of this Paris restaurant, especially for a couple of Americans that do not speak any French, was the service. The waitress, despite the language difference, was very... More

Friendly people and good atmosphere but the food is below what you could expect from such an establishment. Fried tandoori. Who came up with the idea? Fries tasting like oil and nothing else. Salad with oil and some strange dressing. Well, don't need to continue I suppose.

A group of us were after a sports bar to watch the football, drink beer and eat steak, after completing the Paris marathon earlier in the day. Found PlayOff online and walked (slowly) the 1/2 mile to get there from our hotel. The bar ticked all the boxes - football was on (they have numerous screen throughout the bar), beer... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
