There are two sides, the sweet and the savory. Both are great. If you really want to taste what real French pastries taste, you have to visit this place.

It's an excellent patisserie in the heart of paris. We tried the baba au rhum and the fig tart. Very very nice, albeit the heart stopping price. But we are in paris, so might as well enjoy it.

After a light lunch at a cafe in Paris' Marais our eyes wandered looking for gelato hit on this very warm day. Down the block Pain De Sucre caught our eye. From the outside we sized up this little shop as the right place to sooth our sweet tooth. While the gelato didn't match our experiences in italy, it was... More

My wife and I and another couple discovered this place near an apartment we rented. Great place to pick up stuff for a light dinner. Wonderful little meat pastries, delicious tomato tarts, mousses for dessert, many other treats. Together with wine store, fruit store, we had great meals.

Not good enough ice cream. Too expensive. My spouse rated the place a little higher. The service is pleasant, a bit of comfort...

Not only is it cute on the outside, but the inside is even better. Most amazing eclairs along with the most delicious macaroons. My family and I highly recommend for a dessert. (Or breakfast!)

We discovered this little patisserie in the middle of the Marais neighbourhood by chance - the showstopper display of patisseries looked delicious from the window so we opted to go in and grab a quick bite. They have an organic selection of bread, which looked very tasty. Cold soups, vegetarian quiches and pastries plus delectable desserts and cakes are all... More

This patisserie sold the best macarons last time we visited Paris. This time, we bought a box of them and they still have the great chewy texture we enjoyed so much last time.

When wandering the streets of Paris, it can be hard to decide which gorgeous patisserie to stop in for a treat. For this reason, my husband and I only selected two eclairs from Pain du Sucre, marvelling at the beauty of each little pastry. We got the mocha and lemon raspberry flavours and saved them to eat over a cup... More

This place is a tourist trap where you will pay a huge premium. Prices are ridiculous. Explore the area and you will treat yourself with typical traditional French pastries at a reasonable price. Service is not included in the price and is awful.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
