This restaurant was recommended by my brother in law. Everything was fine until I found a black hair (lenght approx 3-4 cm) under my veal cutlet. What disappoint me the most about this experience is the reaction of the owner or I prefer to call it the non-action from her. When I showed her my plate she said it must... More

We arrived in Paris in the morning and arrived at our apartment (Petit Palais) directly across Place Dauphine was this restaurant. We made a reservation for that evening and are glad we did. Great service, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented.

While staying Paris on the Ile de Citie we found La Rosa nearby, it was perfect. Peaceful location, friendly staff and beautiful food at a reasonable price.

I was walking enjoying Paris and saw this restaurant. I decided to have dinner there. A lady asked whether I wanted to have dinner. I said yes and she welcomed me to sit inside. There were only 2 couples at that time and several tables marked with "reserve". I ordered food and drink. There were 1 lady and 1 man... More

I stumbled upon La Rose de France by accident. I was planning to go to a better known restaurant just across the street but at 12.30pm on a beautiful Sunday the other restaurant had its door shut and all the staff were gathering inside in a serious conversation. Then I saw all the happy diners sitting at the outdoor tables... More

My family of 4 ate here at the recommendation of our nearby hotel staff. I must say I'm glad I didn't read the reviews prior to eating here, as I don't think we would have gone. As it was, we went and had a delicious meal, ate outside with a beautiful view of Place Dauphine, and were delighted by the... More

I had a great lunch at La Rose complete with amazing food and good service. I started with the French onion soup and chose the Black Tiger prawns in a Parmesan risotto. The soup may have been one of the best French onions I've ever had. The presentation and delivery was perfect. I couldn't put my spoon down. I then... More

Very unhappy rude lady, avoid a bad experience and go to the place next door, they are very nice and food is good too. If you don't like to serve people don't work in the service sector ;)

We happened across the rose de France whilst ambling the streets of the 5th. It is located in a beautiful Place surrounded by gorgeous buildings. We received a warm welcome and offered a choice of tables. We were promptly asked if we wanted aperitifs, which arrived equally promptly with a small bowl of olives. Our meals were both excellent, special... More

I've eaten here several times over the last decade or so. The restaurant is small and characterful with timber frames inside. Service is attentive. The menu is reasonable priced, food consistently good and inventive. The wine list is varied with a good moulis by the glass.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
