Found this little gem around the corner from my hotel Eugene en Ville as I was walking to the Opera House. They had fresh oysters on display and I knew I HAD to try the food. I met a friend who lives in Paris for dinner. Even though my friend translated most of the words I missed, I was also... More

We first had the tourist menu at the Au General Lafayette with a Road Scholar tour group and enjoyed the delicious food choices. We returned twice by ourselves, lured by the outstanding escargot and profiteroles. They have English language menus. The service was always excellent and friendly. It's a great place for a romantic dinner amidst lovely Art Deco decor.

Excellent service, good selection of beer. Croque monsieur and salads were very good. Restaurant stays open late, has daily specials has a family feel to it.

Wife and I were wandering the streets back towards NotreDame from a nice day up on the hill, Musee and church and all. We first walked to what is ranked number three of all the restaurants in Paris, only to find the chairs flipped upside down up atop the tables, place was closed. Damn I was disappointed...didn't they read that... More

To be honest the burger stopped me in my tracks as I walked past the window and saw the pile on a customer's plate. So in we went and had lunch. The burger was indeed excellent. We actually ended up going back a day later when it was pouring with rain as we were staying in the hotel over the... More

I ate here my first night in Paris. It's directly across the street from the Best Western Première Opera Faubourg. I don't remember my main course, however my appetizer, Tuna Tartare, was so good. It was layered with thin, crispy sheets of Parmesan cheese.

Was close to our hotel and went here for a late night dinner. The food was basic bistrofood, nothing exceptional or great, but wasn't terrible either. The service was old-school Parisian, stiff but professional. The surroundings were charming with a art nouveau elegance.

We stopped by to grab some food. This is place where I first ate Escargots de Bourgogne (snails baked in their shells with parsley butter). It was very delicious, unfortunately just was not enough.

Didn't eat here but called in for a few drinks late on a Saturday. Lively and friendly with excellent choice of wines and beers. Staff were all really friendly as was the owner.

Interesting place, with average French food, open late, which make this dress quite useful. Food is ok,

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
