This was by far the worst experience I had here in Paris. The service was an absolute nightmare. I have never been treated in such a disrespectful way. Since we entered the restaurant it was as if we were another burden for them. The menu...More

On a recent trip to Paris, my husband and I had lunch at Chez Denise. This traditional bistro in Les Halles serves traditional food in generous portions. We split an appetizer, lamb chops and creme caramel. The food was great. One order of lamb chops...More

One of my favorite restaurants in Paris. This small, Very French restaurant is quintessential Paris dining. Chalkboard menu, checked tablecloths and waiters in starched white shirts. You sit (tightly) shoulder to shoulder with other patrons and enjoy a classic meal (the veal kidneys are my...More

The place was recommended to us by a local and we could totally understand why. This is what I had been long looking for on my visits to Paris. This is not a touristy place, but the one real Parisians go to to enjoy genuine...More

Excellent, french and nice restaurant close to Les Halles, Centre Pompidou, Rue de Rivoli, Rue St. Honoré. Mostly french people inside, very nice service, good food. Escargots, cerveau, tripes, i.e. a lot of things you don't get elsewhere. Simple but good wines. Open until late.

This restaurant has kept it simple. You are there to experience food in a quaint environment. The decor is old fashioned but its the food you are there for. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. It was nice to see many local...More

Nothing ever changes at Chez Denise, which is exactly why we keep going back. You sit elbow to elbow with your neighbors--and they become friends. This time, two great couples from Australia. The food is as always--plentiful, delicious, and down to earth. Non carnivores need...More

Very cool place in the heart of Paris. A great area to walk around and see very old and traditional parts of Paris. This restaurant was highly recommended by the owner of our favorite restaurant in the 16eme, Scheffer...also an excellent restaurant.

This is now one of my Paris stand-bys. It's very traditional and needs to be preserved as a heritage project. Food is pretty hearty, and I've got into the habit of taking the escargots and then the lapin a la moutarde. Latter never disappoints. Wine...More

Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
