Great welcome by the manager of the place who is very friendly and helpful. The dishes are classical French and of quality and well prepared. Good selection of wines by the glass. will definitely go back

The food at Max cafe is fine, but the owner/manager stood near the entrance constantly smoking throughout the entire meal. Don't go out of your way, however if in the area it is fine for a quick bite.

Business lunch with Clients on a Friday - a great way to end the week. Cafe Max is a vibrant, intimate and elegant restaurant with simple table settings and crisp white linen. The place was awash with a mix of Parisiens, couples, business colleagues and a smattering of politicians. The menu is a sensible size and with plenty of classic... More

Staying near Max's while in Paris and looked on here to find out about it. I was surprised there weren't more reviews on trip advisor as it was excellent! Of the 6 dishes tried by our table, all the plates were clean at the end and the table wondering if we could possibly order just one more. The host was... More

We very much enjoyed our evening at Cafe Max. We were the only English speakers dining which added to the ambience of hearing only French in this lovely and cozy bistro. The proprietor Valdo was most gracious and we felt very welcomed. Our meals were delicious (steak au poivre and a canard special). We had fun practicing our French with... More

My husband and I have the fondest memories of this place. The owner could not have been more gracious. I would recommend it but for fear that others discover it! Best night of our trip was spent there. Oh it could have been Paris and all that it is.

food, atmosphere and Valdo the owner make of this place one of my favorites in Paris, the price is reasonable, and you can see celebrities as well as political figures (unfortunately ...)
