After a solid 16km walk along the left bank, the prospect of lunch loomed large and we opted for Café Le Louis Philippé across the river on the right bank, near the Hôtel De Ville. Situated in a busy corner, it looks inviting and we were warmly welcomed and invited to sit in the bright and breezy conservatory. It is... More

In an area filled with good restaurants the cafe Louis Phillipe holds its own. The service is friendly, the wine list good and the seafood shines. The trout and sea bass are enjoyable, and vegetarians have a selection of meat and seafood free choices. However, the best experience is freshly shucked oysters with a Pouilly Fuisse!

Location is fantastic near the Seine, l'Hotel de Ville, close to very nice quartiers at Le Marais, very parisien, good service and really very quick if you are in a rush as I was that time. Prices are very correct. Very nice ambience.

I was welcomed ok, but the food was not good, the veau had too much fat, the soupe too much pepper... the service was not so good.

We needed a snack at noon so we stopped at the Louis Philippe. We took the raviolis de roman, salade de chèvre chaud and the tagliatelle avec cèpes. The food was ok at a correct price. The service was friendly and fast.

My friend and I came here for an early dinner before going on to the ballet. We were given the English language menus which had some odd translations: under Small Plates, there was something called "Formerly pike sausage". Well, I couldn't figure that one out. I knew that pike was a type of fish, but "formerly", and sausage? So I... More

We chose this restaurant in a quieter area near the Seine for a relaxed early- dinner. It's a typically French cafe, with tiny tables, a bit sultry waiters an delicious food. That's why you came to Paris, right? :) We had a chevre chaud salad, a mushroom sauce pasta and a bottle of red wine. The bill was under 40... More

A very picturesque little cafe restaurant, close to the Pont Louis Phillip bridge that crosses the Seine River to Isle St Louis Island. Delicious coffee but be aware if you ask for a cappuccino, you will be served a big serving of cream on top!

Lovely place on bustling corner. Great shade in the heat of the day. Run by a nice family. Interesting menu and good service.

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
