First this place had an horrible service : the owner who is also the chef is injuring all the time her staff and even customers as she thinks we don't hear or understand what she says.. ! I never saw that. While I was there the waitress, who was doing a nice job, even get out of the restaurant in... More

I had lunch here twice in 2013 and had the same delicious curried lamb tagine with couscous. Prices above value, however. The glass-enclosed courtyard area has so much potential that is just not exploited as a delightful location - with cleaning products and messy furniture in the corner. It's difficult to find a word to describe the service - awkward... More

Very basic café, but expensive even Paris and I think the tea was made on hot water from cappuccino machine, but was not more that 80 C and nowhere near boiling, this makes the tea taste awful and the coffee wasn't much better. As this is Paris I would pick somewhere else.

The Village Saint Paul is a little heart of hipness in the Marais, one of the hippest bits of this gilded and gleaming city. It's packed with antique, retro, junk and brocante shops and therefore makes for marvellous window shopping--although given the inflated prices, you might want to keep it at that. The Montecao is a wee haven in the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
